I haven't been paying attention lately but I saw RVD main evented an AEW show last night?

Someone explain this to me like I'm dumb. This is the 'alternative' program? a 53 year old RVD?

They have had RVD wrestle on AEW couple times before. Tony thinks that bringing in outside talent is best for his company instead of paying guys on his own roster to just sit in catering.

I hadn't seen RVD in years and while I always thought he looked phenomenal for his age, at the time, last night was clear that time catches up with us all. You can clearly see the physical decline.

I agree the RVD match was very uninspiring to me. You could see swerve was clearly getting frustrated and I wish they would have found someone better for him to wrestle.

Heyyyy looook...more negativity just to be negative...surprise surprise...

Was it a weird choice? Yes, I agree..but not sure anyone would've really made sense...

Hangman is a face...so it wouldn't make sense for it to be a heel, so that eliminates 50% of the roster if not more

Copeland/Edge? doesn't make sense for a 1 off..
FTR/Garcia already have a thing going on with HoB..
Kingston/Danielson already have a thing going..
Moxley already had a match..
Acclaimed/Gunn Club already had a segment..
Darby/Sting already had a segment and have a story..
Jeff Hardy and Komander already had matches..

Sooo...Orange Cassidy as a champ? Trent Barretta? Danhausen?

I mean maybe Keith Lee, if he's not injured, to pay off that story finally would've made sense...

Not to mention it had to be someone to lose, as Swerve wasn't losing...so..it was pretty narrow pickings...either some random NJPW guy or some other random...they went with the latter

Not negative to be negative at all. With a huge roster why are you bringing in RVD to main event? It's weird and doesn't make sense to me. Swerve is actually a guy in AEW I really like.

I think that was the point of making it a "hardcore" match.

It definitely wasn't very pretty, but wasn't awful. I didn't notice Swerve being frustrated...

I did notice there were a handful of rough transition spots though

How is it negative saying that AEW keeps bringing in outside talent while guys on main roster guys do nothing.

Keep being the AEW fanboy mark you are.

I read the post, there is no reason to have RVD main eventing your TV show in 2024. You don't HAVE to have Swerve main event. If you're gonna have RVD on your show (And you shouldn't in 2024) put it elsewhere on the card. Bad look.

Agree. Tony has to undertand that some guys who are past their prime need to stay gone. But this is not the first and won't be the last Tony makes you wonder what he is smoking with the matchs he is booking

Hangman/Swerve III was absolute fire just like their other two matches.

So Khan's "Big Announcement" was them going back to Boston? I assume thats where Banks debuts. Since she's from there. I still dont think she'll be a big deal there, same as Okada if he goes there.

He's 64 years old, I don't think that's the same as washed up.

They have been talking about his final match being a tag match for like a month now, and I assume he'll be doing the same things in that one that he's been doing all along.

They spelled it "Bo$$ton" in one of the graphics, so yes, Mercedes Mone is All Elite...

Hes been ON RECORD ever since he came to AEW that he wasn't interested in doing singles matches...

And he has 100% input/control over his last match...

Why do you even bother..again, besides to just effin complain about everything they do...

I do feel bad for TK in a way

His "big announcements" are mostly underwhelming outside of Forbidden Door, Wembley and a few others

This wasn't a needle mover...but the fact the venue "spoiled" it by announcing it before was kinda lame

Okada will be big..for THEIR audience..but probably wont impact any new viewership

Sasha/Mone MIGHT...but shes been injured for awhile, and was out of WWE for a bit too..

They are also running dangerously close to running down the womens division

Ruby is already an afterthought...they brought in Taya, and she hasn't done anything...they just brought in Purazzo as a big name...now Sasha//Mone...and rumors of Kamille from NWA incomimg as well..

They are gonna need more than 1 match per episode/3 per week or else theyll fade too

Sounds like Sammy G got a little bit careless last night and dropped a knee across Jeff Hardy's face last night....
