Lol "attacking" Heritage. The price of Heritage declines on it's own regardless of what I say. Nothing wrong with collecting it. It just looks boring next to other modern sets to most collectors.

Except the.price hasn't really declined. I live Heritage for the fact prices have in fact remained incredibly steady recently.

I wonder how the black refractors will look. Will they move the colored border so it can still be seen, or will the black replace it entirely? 75s without the color could be a little bland.

That’s been a big question of mine as well. I agonized for years over what they’d do with the 1971 set. Once that was answered I refocused my agony on the 75 set.

Good question, wonder what they do with the /999’s too. On the bright side (hopefully) full color border chrome refractors should look great!

I have been ordering multiple cases of heritage since 2007

Price has always been 60-70 dollars. Never has changed

Resale at release is one of the greatest returns of any product

But no I would rather pay

400 dollars for topps chrome jumbo
700 dollars for gilded
550 from bowman draft chrome
800 dollars for prizm football
Yay shinny cards

Just because price goes up. Does not make it better

I think it might make the buyer of those a little more naive

Since you are paying 3-5x cost and getting massively ripped off

We were talking about this at the LCS. Lots of decisions to make, for example also the purple refractors. Color swap a little ridiculously easy this year but other parallels, not so much. 2019 Archives really struggled with this.

A complete Heritage set goes for much more than Flagship....

There are so many things Topps could do with this set. Will be fun to watch this year.

I'd say no. I was looking forward to 2023 heritage minors but haven't heard anything so it probably got scraped.

Same, price has been 60-70 for years....I feel you are 100% correct about buyers thinking there is more value because of cost rising....but in essence, it's the other way around

People who love heritage enjoy that breakers hate it, as it doesn’t artificially drive up the price. The name heritage literally evokes old time collecting and not chasing rainbows and unicorns like modern collectors do. Rare cards are a bonus. The value is in the sets, and the black borders and chromes and variations when priced right. And you won’t go bankrupt buying cases. Can’t wait for this one. 2023 heritage was great for me.

Or maybe, just maybe, collecting baseball cards isn't exactly about ripping a cheap boring set just trying to break even on cost while wasting countless hours doing so. If that's your idea of the pinnacle of the wax side of the hobby, I do feel bad for you because that sounds miserable and a waste of time and money. Or maybe wax just isn't for you

I think it's fair to say different people value different things. I personally prefer the wax game when it isn't one pure gambling exercise. Your wasted hours are my favorite part of the experience in breaking down sets and working through the cases, the act of it is its own reward for me.

I participate in this hobby not to make any real money, but to step outside of a demanding work life and focus on something simple that I can enjoy. The high risk/high reward approach to wax holds not interest for me.

But the important part of that is "for me", I don't pretend others will or need to have the same approach. I don't think they are wrong to do what they do, but neither am I.

I’m with you on this, brother. 100%. I enjoy Heritage. That’s all that matters to me really. This dude that loves to tell everyone else what they should think is entitled to his opinion, but I don’t give a crap about his opinion. I just ignore him. His hobby is posting and stirring the pot that’s already cooked. Topps makes different products for different people and collectors. If someone doesn’t like a particular one, that’s fine…they should just move on and let others enjoy what they like. He is the reason the ignore list was created

Good luck with 2024. I’m excited about it for sure ! If you want to trade hit me up.
