Default Does anyone collect sets?

Hi everyone - I think I am a dying breed, but I love the challenge of collecting full sets. The different levels of rarity/numbering are challenging to figure out what to go for so I am beginning to look to older sets to go for.

What say you? Does anyone collect sets or just collect your favorite wrestlers for your PC?

I have been working on a 2014 Topps Chrome Refractor set for a while. Started out doing just ungraded, then it turned into graded. Its such a low pop set, it has turned into quite the project.

A little bit. I made the 2021 Upper Deck AEW set since it was their inaugural release and have a bunch of 2022s but I haven't sorted through them yet. Also working on a 2022 Panini Prizm WWE Red/White/Blue Prizm set.

The bulk of my set building revolves around baseball.

I collect sets, I really enjoy the challenge of putting some of the tougher sets together. I get a big kick when I finally get that last card I need and I even have fun checking eBay or COMC for the last few I need. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are concerned about the financial side of things, but as a hobby it’s pretty fun. Sometimes I get stuck needing one or two cards, but I keep hoping they will show up at a reasonable price at some point. I guess that’s the fun of it.

I think this is it for me too. I find I have my more expensive cards in PSA slabs or one touches, but I flip through my sets in albums more than the slabs.

I really only do PC, but I think I'm gonna try to put together the "Star Futures" set from AEW Allure. Nothing special but I already got about 10/25 from opening one box so it shouldn't be hard completing through another box and/or Ebay. Never been a fan of putting base sets together though, maybe if it was some special small set but checklists are so big these days it seems pointless unless you build one organically by opening cases etc. even more so when I realized most companies just drop a box set with complete sets anyway lol (sans inserts usually which makes the case for those even better to me)

My son was born in 2022 and inbuilt sets of baseball for that year, series 1,2, update, and Heritage. Heritage was a mofo so I doubt I’ll do that again.

That being said, I bought a hobby of WWE 2021 when they released in 2022. I kinda want to complete that set just for funsies.

Definitely a dying breed. I asked around in my lcs and they shrugged it off big time. Then again, they’re into Pokémon.

I neglected it for about a year and a half but I just need a few more refractors from the 2020 Topps Chrome Set and I'll have that that one finished.

Currently trying to complete the 2023 WWE Select set. Going for all levels and don't care if it's base, retail red/blue, whatever. So far I've just completed Concourse.

If anyone has some premiers, ringside, and mezzanine, hit me up!
