these coaching decisions....i don't get them sometimes.

Goff was kneeling so quickly on that last drive (after the INT), that Tampa could have used a timeout on the 3rd kneel, and forced Detroit to kick the FG with 30 seconds left. at that point, ANYTHING can happen...bad snap, missed kick, blocked FG...and instead Tampa just let the clock run out.

They called 1 time out after a sack on Baker with about 5 mins left in game and 2 more right before the 2 minute warning if I remember correctly.

The going theory is that they called a timeout after the Goff sack with about 3 minutes left which had a penalty flag. The call was illegal use of hands to the face.

According to this theory, because of the penalty, Tampa was not charged the timeout but the coaching staff thought they were.

Perhaps the scoreboard was also in error?

Regardless, it was absolute 100% coaching malfeasance.

That's the timeout which didn't get charged as a timeout due to the accepted penalty. The coaches should have known this.

yeah NBC gave them back that timeout. it showed that they had 1 left.

That's the timeout which didn't get charged as a timeout due to the accepted penalty. The coaches should have known this.
Ahhh, that could be. Definitely interesting if that is the case.

Agreed: NBC had it right.

I wonder if the Detroit scoreboard had it right or wrong.... I am thinking since both teams thought TB had zero left that may have been the case....

EDIT: FWIW Florio has an article on this so at least 1 media member picked it up....

Game fell at time today that I had church stuff to take care of so wasn't around much. Overall happy with this season and hoping for the Bucs to take a step forward into the future.
