Shawn Kemp Question

I was always a big fan of Shawn Kemp when I was growing up and I have decided that I would like to start a PC of him.

My question to all of you is, what are the must-have cards for him? Also, what other cards should I be on the look out for that are desirable? Thanks in advance for the help.

Love me some Kemp. As far as must have cards go, the first that come to mind for me are the Court Commemoratives autograph, the Spx promotion autograph, Spx Force autograph... These are the ones that are easy to miss because they're part of small insert sets with only 4-5 players.

The other big cards are part of larger sets, like precious metal gems, star rubies, platinum medallion, essential credentials, etc. Bread and butter for any 90s player.

Other than that, just collect whatever catches your eye! I love those old sonics uniforms personally, so I try and avoid cards where he's in a Cavs uniform.

Start with PSA 10 rookie cards and them move up,ungraded, from there. I'd imagine his expensive stuff is the late nineties and today's.

There's too many nice cards of him to even name.

I'd honestly just go through every year of 90s sets and check which inserts/parallels of his you find the most visually appealing.

Actually, just go through Abra's Kemp photo album, it's organized by year.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys! Looks like those Flickr albums will be a good visual guide. I pretty much planned to grab some key cards and then just chase anything that I found visual appealing. Looks like will be a good approach.

Sure the 90's rare inserts are the cards to go for.... however, me as a Sonics fan, the first one to get is the Thunder & Lightning features Payton & Kemp, what a memory....

His fleer and skybox rcs are nice. But just collect what you yourself feel is cool in your eyes. Doesn't need to be expensive.
