Such a sad old narrative. These guys are doing more volume than nearly anyone without issue. Half their breakers are obnoxious but it's just lazy to think that one dumb thing they did early in their existence defines them.

I'm sure they'll throw away their entire business and keep the Stroud, good one!

Stealing a card worth close to 6 figures is definitely something that should define you. Usually in jail, they’re lucky they only have to fight the stigma of being thieves which again they only brought on themselves by stealing.

The thing about "old narratives" is that they are based mostly on truth.

To be fair I think the person who won the card will get it because based on how much money a Texans team break must cost these days it is probably someone "influential" that Backyard doesn't want to #@#@#@#@ with.

This stuff has gotten so expensive. I mean, who can participate in the hobby at this point? Yes, I get that high end stuff is expensive and only for certain pocket books, but this is Prizm!?!?!? This is designed and created as a middle of the road product for the average collector. God knows the quality control of the product isnt higher than such!
We are getting to the point that the point of entry price is far more reflective of the low percentage hits than it is of the actual product 99% of the hobby recieves?

Sortable checklist with the usual zillion parallels for hobby....https://cardboardglory.com/2023-pani...dates-preview/

Doesn't look like retail will yield much beyond base and few prizms per box at best....

This is a REALLY terrible take. Make stupid decisions win stupid prizes. Their "prize" is this stigma can (and should) follow them as long as they are in business.

Optic isn't on the release schedule and rumors are that there will not be an Optic release this year.

I ordered 6 for fun. 3 came today, hit a Pink auto in 2 of the 3 boxes.

Haven't watched any breaks yet on blasters but I had pre-orders 2 for kicks.

The fact there are no opportunities for # or decent color, really only good to break for fun. 1 silver per box 5 disco and rest basically base. Expect these will be available to buy for some time. They really could have added something to make it more interesting.

Apparently there are Red/Blue/Press Proof, but they must be TOUGH pulls.

So I just finished the 2nd box, and it turned out much better than expected. For the above, I don't believe Press Proof is Color. It is base r/b/press proof or rc r/b/press proof.

That said, out of 2 blasters, the highlights:
-Derrick Henry True Blue (still SSP?)
-CJ Stroud Rookie Gear Silver Patch
-Tanner McKee Orange Disco
-Jordan Addison Orange Disco
-Luke Musgrave Silver Prizm

Well worth the entry.

I'm aware of what the Press Proof is, perhaps I should have used commas instead. Red Checkerboard have been pulled from Wal Mart Megas as well, so there's another SP to look for. Nice Henry, Blue seems a lot harder to hit than Red.

From what I have seen yes, blue is the hardest to hit in retail. I imagine a blue Stroud would do insane numbers with the color match and rarity.

The retail blue still seams really rare. I'm sure they bumped up the numbers a bit beyond the 5 or so that were believed to be made the first year they had them, but it doesn't seem like they pop up very often.

2022 PSA pop report for Brock already has 9. I'd guess they would be closer to 15-20 due to this.
