Yoan is my guy too! Incredible card! Why are you reslabbing to CGC vs. PSA or others?

Especially for a card like this where resale value isn't a priority, visual clarity is the most important thing to me. BGS slabs are horrible, PSA is ok at best when they aren't all scuffed and scratched (which is never), CGC is crystal clear.

This is tough for me because I added a ton of cool cards this year for all sports. but for baseball I'll start with

Honorable Mentions

Just a card I always wanted

A sweet early 00's patch card of Nolan Ryan

Love letter patches

Ohtani Finest Blue

Ohtani Rookie Cup Black

Ohtani Red Bowman Chrome Sapphire to 5

Love the patch on this

Another cool patch of a legend

Love this for the uniqueness of being a patch from a A's jersey Dimaggio used as a coach

Love Ginter X Silver Ink Autos and this is of my favorite player

Another Sweet Letter Patch

Mookie doesn't have a ton of autos, this is a rookie year auto numbered to 15. Love the gold ink

Such an awesome legendary Yankees Combo

Another Sweet Yankees Legends Combo

Ok NOW the Top 5

#5 This beats out the Ruth/Maris Combo for me because the Ruth is a jersey card where on the UD card it's a pants card

#4 Not just any letter patch, an Ohtani Game Used Letter Patch

#3 I LOVE Fleer Brilliants Gold Parallel. I've wanted a Griffey forever. When I saw this come up for auction, I knew I was going to win it

#2 Another card I've wanted for a while. This year I got it

#1 Definitely the best baseball card I added to the PC

there's a bunch, but i narrowed it down to my top 5, all baseball cards:

5: Joe DiMaggio/Charlie Keller 1941 Double Play

4: 1995 Andruw Jones Bowman's Best refractor rookie (one of the most iconic baseball cards of the 1990s)

3: 1998 Griffey Jr. Bowman Chrome International Refractor (wanted this card since i was a little kid)

2: 1997 Pinnacle Certified Mirror Gold Griffey Jr. (at one point, this card was valued at $2,500 )

1: 1910 Caramel E93 Eddie Plank

Awesome pull in 1995!

I emptied my 401(k) to buy cards in 2023. I heard that was a good move.

Hey REGGIE206 why does it look like both players are wearing different jerseys.

It seems that the Ichiro Mariners word is darker and I can not see the compass like on Julios jersey.

dboll20 is that 1954 Bowman 66 Williams the one that was pulled after he signed with Topps.

If I'm not mistaken Ichiro is wearing his 2001 All-Star Game Jersey in that picture.

Well this won't wow anyone like these crazy pickups above, but they're my favorites. Cost me about $30 total, with the CC being the bulk of that cost.

I couldn't narrow it to 5 so you get 7.

1. Abeyta - His only pro card
2. Sabathia - His first pro card, and earliest (only 1998 card he had)
3. Scholtens - His MLB RC
4. Smith - His first year pro card
5. Shelley - His first year pro card
6. Hollins - His MLB RC
7. Dye - His MLB RC

i could never buy it in 1995, but i can in 2023. and i believe if Jones makes it to the HOF, you'll see a revival of this card.

Awesome TBP!!!

Why is the Mantle a 1? Even with the crease, seems like it should be a two. Beautiful card I will never have in my collection, but is a top 5 for me to have.

Only two bigger cards in 2023. One of the last Mantles I need to finish off my Mantle collection and the Cobb WS ball to go into my Great American Treasures set.
