Signed bookplate of Barbara Streisand, my total came to $63

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bn-virt...s-764088658747

Please read carefully and make sure you are getting the signed bookplate mailed with admission to the virtual event.

Edit: it does look to be sold out, maybe keep refreshing/checking randomly

I was thinking I would never want a Streisand auto but now I do want one just for that purpose.

Arg, I wish I went to B&N on Friday - would have loved to pick up a Portman and look for a Weird Al. Hopefully they will post some more to their site soon. I loaded up on the Premier sale though, had a lot of great books I didn't have for $14-17.

They might still have some portmans, at my store they were on the shelf in the kids section.

Fyi- Portmans "could" still exist in the wild. Go to Barnes & Noble website, search any book, click on the signed version > check availability in stores > pick up in store.

I drove 35 minutes to pick up a Portman that way. They find the book and set it aside for you for 3 days. Easy and amazing.

That reminds me of something I was pondering. But its probably too outrageous for me to actually follow through. LOL.

I picked up a Comedy Bang Bang that has a Jason Mantzoukas auto. Anyone here see "Pam & Tommy" on Hulu? If so, you know where im going with this. haha.

"In Episode 2 of Hulu’s “Pam & Tommy,” that indeed is Tommy Lee, played by Sebastian Stan, having a deep, honest conversation with his talking [animatronic] penis — voiced by Jason Mantzoukas."

I didn't see any Portmans last year, but there were stacks of them this year. Even two days after Black Friday I still saw them. Probably because they don't really sell for much of a profit on Ebay, unlike Arnold. Also probably because they've been available for years now, so most people that want one probably already have one.

I tried that but it appears that all the stores around me are sold out. At least that’s what the website says. The closest B&N is about 45 min away.

Does anyone know how accurate their website reflects their inventory? Is it worth a risk to just go for a few Portmans or is their website usually spot on?

hit and miss. in context of the Portmans at the location I drove to after reserving one, it was accurate. BUT I had also searched that location online for the signed Channing Tatum book, and their site said not in stock. The location ended up having 4+ Tatums in stock.

Probably best to call the location directly and ask them to verify stock

I know this isn't about a signed book but the folks in this wonderful thread know a lot more about autographs and signed items than I do. So there's a MythBusters auction underway includes at least eight similar "Collection of MythBusters Branded Items with Cast Signed Promotional Photos" lots all of which have the same two signed postcards and some other items.

Here are three:

https://propstoreauction.com/lot-det...26key%3Dsigned

https://propstoreauction.com/lot-det...26key%3Dsigned

https://propstoreauction.com/lot-det...26key%3Dsigned

And here's the description from one:

Quote:
Reference: Promotional MythBusters items were given out at fan events during the course of the show including signed photos. Several of these items are from Grant Imahara's personal collection. Grant Imahara joined the MythBusters as the Build Team's third member in 2005 where he designed and built many robotic and electrical elements to test various known myths with his team.

Inventory Description: This lot consists of one photo copy cast signed photo, two signed postcards, one sticker, and one sealed trading card pack. Items remain in excellent condition.
What are the chances these were hand signed and not autopenned? I downloaded three of the scans of the signed postcards for comparison:

Here's a link to a larger version.

The individual signatures look similar on all three but not identical and none are in the exact same location. I'm thinking there was probably a sort of assembly line signing where each of the five cast members from the show added their signature and passed the postcard to whoever was sitting next to them.

Thoughts? Can I bid with confidence these are hand signed items and don't have manufactured autos on them? Thanks.

All three appear similar yet nowhere near identical.

Yeah I don't know if they're authentic, but they're definitely not autopen.

You can still find a lot of the 2023 Black Friday books

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/202...tions/_/N-2tou

I was able to score another Hilary Duff:

My Little Sweet Boy
Signed by Hilary Duff

$19.99

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/my-...=9780593811474

These signed books are still available if you are willing to pick them up. Can't believe it's been over a week and you can still pick up a Bob Odenkirk, Jake Gyllenhaal or Mathew McConaughey.

Thanks! Gonna hit up some local B&Ns for some books. Wish I could've landed a signed Arnold though.
