Is something wrong with Ebay Search function?

The last week or so, everything I enter into the search bar is turning back hundreds of results, most of which have 1-2 matching words from my query. Most of these searches should give me 1-15 results at max. Ebay tells me nothing has changed and nothing is wrong...

But...

My most recent search for "Prizm Austin Reaves 165 PSA 10" brought back 511 results for BIN listings only. The first two results are for raw Alec Burks Green Prizms.

Anyone else having this problem? It's literally impossible to use.

Same. It was jacked up a month or so ago and then they fixed it. Now it is all hosed again.

Ebay just told me to clear my cookies, switch browsers, and try incognito mode...

The standard answers to when things go wrong and they don't know why.

Just yesterday I put in 2022 Bowman Best University Caleb Williams /150 and got over 600 results. First thought was, "Well, that makes absolutely no sense.

Glad to know it seems like a site problem and not a me problem. Means they are more likely to do something to fix it haha!

Try putting quotations in where needed. That might help.

Just put a key word or two in quotes. A pain, but it’ll fix the issue.

Yep. I've noticed this too. Soandso Bowman Chrome Auto Blue 150 brings back pretty much all BCA, plus a few non-auto, plus some random other players. If I put the "Blue" in quotes it comes back normal.

I've also been using Terapeak to search for active items as another workaround. I don't like its search function as much as eBay, but when eBay is all jacked up it's better.

Search has been messed up for over a year now. There have been several posts for at least that far back.

The more the want and force sellers to tweak the item specifics the worse it gets. Now the AI is adding what others who have searched for this have searched for its creating a cluster.

There are some cards you will search for the AI thinks it's a car part

I hadn't thought about the screwed up search being a factor in slow sales, but it's certainly possible. I'm adding a ton of inventory, plenty of it at appropriate pricing, and still my sales are falling. If this pace continues, I'll be at zero sales before long.

This is BS.
I've got a few graded cards listed that are definitely the lowest priced on ebay, yet sales are happening on higher priced BINs and even a few auctions for the exact same card. In fact, barely any views even. I've now ended some of the listings and will relist as 'sell similar item' to reset the algorithm.
Likely getting lost in the 500+ search results.

Yeah the eBay search function has been terrible and likely the cause of ebay sales being down. It's unfortunate for a company that takes such a high fee.

Sales are down? Last week has been my biggest in 2 months. 900 dollars from biggest month of yea. Likely biggest reason is tge card market continues to tank search is likely hurting some but card market in general is biggest issue

Well maybe the search function is getting back on track.

I noticed this seems to happen once every month or two, and seems to last about a week or so then gets back to normal. I agree though, very annoying. Makes me not even want to do my normal near-daily searches, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

In the past 2 days I've noticed my new listings (or all but 1 of them) aren't showing up in the search function.

Like if you click the link to my eBay page you'll see 198 active listings. However, I currently have 210 active listings.

I had 197...added 13 auctions last night...only 1 shows up in a search function (and has received some views) while the other 12 don't appear in any general search (and all have 0 views)

They call it 'indexing' and some of the listings won't show up for 24 hours.

There is now no doubt in my mind that this is affecting sales. I had a terrible day of sales today and sure enough, when I go to place my bids tonight the search is back to spewing everything unless you add quotes to a keyword.

I've been having these troubles for months now.
I called and talked to a rep three months ago about it.
We went through half an hour of walk thru's and suggestions and nothing helped. They said they would forward on to their IT/Tech department.
They know about it, but either they don't care or don't know how to fix.
