I believe it was sold for a period of time, it didn't sell out, so it didn't all get printed and/or get packed/shipped. So only a portion of the potential production made it into the wild, and despite the serial numbering, not all numbers were available.

I predict Soto will be a Padre when the 2024 season begins. Everything we are reading is all smoke and mirrors from a fan/bloggers pipe dream that keeps getting republished.

Yankee stadium will be a downgrade for soto's numbers. He would have had 27 HR instead of 35 if that was his home stadium in 2023 and 20 less for his career.

Check this out though. If he played in Cincinnati he would have 195 career HR's right now instead of 160. That's an entire season!

Best Parks for Soto (Career HR's if he played his entire career for one of these teams to date)

Reds - 195
Dodgers - 185
Brewers - 181
Astros - 179
Cubs - 177
White Sox - 176
Orioles - 169
Phillies - 166

It's a very peculiar situation for SD. On the one hand they gave up a haul to get Soto and need to let it play out. On the other hand, they'll have egg all over their face if they miss again in '24 and let him walk after the season - not to mention their immediate financial incentive to reduce payroll.

The big question though is whether or not Boras will even consider an in season extension with a new club. Soto's value surely is impacted if not.

I predict he gets traded (along with Cronenworth) this winter for 1 or 2 controllable MLB ready players and 1 mid tier prospect. Someone will pay that price and it's palatable for SD.

So I accidently stumbled across this card quite awhile ago. At the time I was chasing something else and I didn't put too much effort into bidding on it. I lost the auction not really worried about it figuring another would pop up soon. It didn't. It took me close to a year or slightly more to find another. I purchased this months ago but forgot to post it ha.

I have zero idea on print run as it's not numbered but I've only ever seen two in the wild.

I bought another player from that same set in April '22. Seller told me then only upper management got the sets...100 made.
