So, I've been staying at my cousin's place the last 6 months. Just kind of saving cash and getting my bearings in a new state. About a month ago, his water heater went out and he still hasn't replaced it. I absolutely detest cold water showers, so now I'm going to the gym 7 days a week, just so I can get a hot shower.

Leg Day.

Missed most of the last month finish up my writing. This was Day 2 of getting back to my routine.

Arms and Shoulders.

My elbow is on fire. Time to start binging NSAIDs?

Had a dude stop me while I was walking out of the gym yesterday. He asked what supplements I take and when I said I only use whey protein; the guy looked like he saw a ghost.

I told him to just eat a bunch of turkey and pasta and he will be fine.

benched 310lbs today, prob coulda done 315lbs.

been doing reps of 10/8/6/4/4/2/2 on mondays for 6 weeks.

today was 215/225/235/245/255/265/285.

then i do one rep as long as someone else is around, 2 weeks ago did 305lbs for the first time ever. last week i was alone, this week set another record.

weird to be 44 and stronger than i’ve ever been, probably should have started this #@#@#@#@ 20 years ago…

After a few weeks of working on the golfer’s elbow, it’s finally time to try the heavier bench press again.

Here we go…

10x225 - felt strong and smooth! No elbow pain.

I am experiencing genuine happiness in this moment.

I seek the coveted Bro-fessor status.

What are you chasing at the moment?

Trying to get my Squat back up. It's abysmal, but I am old now, so it's to be expected I suppose.

I'm doing a lot of paused variations in my current cycle. Seeing a solid strength uptick and control balance in my form.

I'm using Johnny Candito's Forever Program on the Superset app. Good stuff.

I think I got the Vid, so I have been out of the gym for a week and a half. Nothing makes me feel more sad than missing the gym

Just added a landmine attachment to the home/garage gym. Way smoother and safer then putting the barbell in the corner!

The Vid will knock your lung capacity for a loop.

Combo day to make up for yesterday’s missed workout.

I also don’t feel like my CV system has ever 100% recovered from COVID. Or maybe I’m just getting old…..

That’s the truth. Even after I started feeling better, the cough is still here and very annoying

Went back to the gym today and my strength & endurance are definitely lacking. I lost 7 pounds in two weeks while being sick.

I am hitting the kitchen hard this time and hope to pack on some pounds now that I am back to lifting.

Dude you'll be looking at months to get your wind back. Months. Pace yourself!

I have always been a dumbbell press guy over barbell. Playing baseball my whole life, I really worked on the mobility of being able to get the dumbbells down to my armpits and then explode up. Recently I have put a big emphasis on barbell bench, but my triceps are giving out before my chest.

Other than the traditional, "get your triceps stronger" anyone ever experience this/find anything to overcome it?
