The smudge on the Kobe looks like would wipe off with a microfiber cloth?

My BGS order that was received on 8/29 moved to the graders today. This was the regular base order. These were all hockey cards and thicker stock, Ultimate Patches and The Cup RPA’s.

Base order received yesterday and got a notification it's in the grading process already. Last time I sent a base order it took the fully quoted time. Maybe BGS is slow?

Clearly wasn't when September ended, that's for darn sure.

Quick question. I'm thinking of sending a few thicker RPAs to Beckett this week. I've if the cards I want to send is already PSA 9 slabbed. I want to see if they will consider it for a BGS 9.5. On the order form, would this be categorized as grading or graded card review (since it isn't graded by then)? I want to insure it is NOT cracked unless it meets 9.5 requirements.

In all likelihood, you are just giving them money if you do not crack it.

I agree. I have done many crossover orders over the years. If i leave the card slabbed, i have about a 5-10% chance it'll cross over. If you crack them out, depending on condition and what's wrong, I get about a 50-60% chance to cross.

Ex: sent an order of 15 BGS True gems or better to psa, all looked perfect. got one to cross to a psa 10. Cracked 7 of the remaining 14 and sent in raw with another order, 5 gemmed and two got 9s.

Just do a normal grading order. Write "Minimum Grade 9.5" as a note.

Beckett sucks. Why list a turnaround time of 10-20 days when they ALWAYS take 20 days to grade at that specific level. Just set the right expectation. Don’t say it’ll be before 20 days if there’s a good chance it won’t. Never understood that.

Since mine arrived 8/29, I guess I still have a few more weeks or more, especially with the holiday season. They get 75K cards per month, based on GemRate data compared to 1.2M received by PSA. PSA is now around 2-3 months on turnaround, understandable with their volume. How many graders does BGS have now? They are dying a not so slow death. Pathetic!

When you're already freaking out over their '10-20 business days' Standard Level, don't try their Base Level. They claim it's 60+ business days, hoping you'll receive it in 60-70 days, but it's more like 100 business days

BGS puts orders in their repository similarly to PSA grading stage, but they are pathetic with updates. My guess is the next time I will receive an update it will be shipped! BEING these are hockey cards (thick) more accepted In That market than the other markets, I hope they finish before the end of the year. This will be the last time I use BGS for anything.

Yeah I couldn’t bear to wait that long. I did an order during COVID and that was a nightmare. Whatever range of days they gave, they went wayyyy over. Just ridiculous that they can’t properly manage an expectation.

My big thing is don’t say it’s a 10-20 day turnaround. Just call it a 20 day turnaround because that’s what it always is at that level. They don’t quite understand that pissing off the consumer isn’t too good for repeat business. Then again, doesn’t seem like they necessarily give a crap anyways.

Item shipped on 11/15
Delivery date was today, item delayed in CO
I'm one state away, so now expected delivery date is Monday
Why BGS uses Fedex is beyond me.

My 6 card sub just switched to each card receiving a serial number, but still no grades. How long does it usually take to pop from that stage?

Delivery status changed from Monday, to today, now back to Monday. At one point my card had no location. It just said null.

Spent time in Colorado, then popped up in Tennessee. Supposed to be delivered today. Status pending. Over a week from one state. I really hope Fedex didn't lose it. Worst part is it one of my Holy Grail cards! Happy Thanksgiving

I recommend choosing overnight shipping next time. Anything else with any shipping service is going to carry an increased risk of the package being lost or stolen. The extra cost is worth it.

That is comical! Zion cases exploded during COVid and more times than not, those cases are for show. I would never spend $400 on BGS for grading now, considering they received my standard submissions 08/29. Had the cards not been of a thicker variety I would not have used them. 8 are crack outs from PSA. I WANT to see how they will do.
