UD usually included top draft picks in series one and it was the best series. The last two years, UD has been including the best draft picks in series 2. I remember Jack Hughes, Elias Petterson, and a few players in 18-19 Series One.

Hughes is in 19-20 S1. I bought a lot of this over the past year or so to hold sealed just because it looks like he's starting to become the player he was expected to be and he's still very young and prices were not all that high.

I think the 19/20 products with both Hughes and Makar are very good long term holds.

I think so too. I know S2 was more short-printed and has the Makar YG and Hughes Canvas YG but it's also priced a lot higher compared to S1 and with S1 you get the Hughes YG and also still get the Makar Canvas YG. So, I went heavy on S1. You can still get the retail boxes under $70 which seems pretty cheap to me. I bought a lot of hobby when it was closer to $100 but that is closer to $130s/$140s now I think, which may still not be all that expensive if you believe in Hughes especially LT.

That was pre-Covid when they printed domestically. Now they’re printing flagship in Italy and having to get everything shipped overseas and put through customs and all that nonsense. The lead time isn’t anywhere near what it used to be.

I can give a general review on pull rates so far. I've got a store. Sold a bunch of boxes but allocation was real heavy so we've been ripping most of the day. We've been through about 45 boxes.

-No Bedard SPs so far in 3 cases and some change. Also no Fanimations or Deons
-1 auto(vet)
-2 UD Exclusive(Vets)
-1 Outburst Red /25(Young Guns)
-4 #'d 200X85 inserts
-2 #'d 10 Population Count, 2 #'d 500, 4 #'d 1000
-6 or 7 Delux #'d 250(2 Young Guns)
-2 Clear Cut Young Guns
-6 Acetate Vet Base
-4 Black/White Canvas Young Guns
-3 Red Die Cut SP Inserts
-1 or 2 gold SP of certain inserts(stat fillers and one other I cant remember)
-Havent checked base for the Swag variations on the base yet.
Handful of Canvas Young Guns
Still have incomplete insert sets(200x85, Dazzlers)
-4 Complete Young Gun Sets
-Decent amount of Outburst Silver Young Guns(Outburst Silvers average 1 per box)

Overall we are having fun. We have another case to rip so are hoping to put together a complete base/YG/Insert set. Definitely am having more fun ripping this years with the new configuration as opposed to last years. Value wise we are going to be fine ripping at cost. But I don't know if we would have ripped as much if it was 140/box.

My LCS busted 3 cases

They ended up with 2 Bedards and the Henry Thrun Young Gun 1/1 gold.

So basically one really nice hit per case.

Only good Kraken for me out of 3 cases was a Beniers Honor Roll Gold Rainbow 25/25

This rip still looks terrible at cost if you only hit the wrong players. Hopefully you had some good players in your hits.

It appears UD1 might suck based from the YG checklists before the season started. But until players start playing, you never know how this products will perform next few years.

There is so much dumb "hobby hype" surrounding Bedard, non-hockey collectors will be picking up boxes.
