Default Does this 79 Topps Gretzky have a shot at a 10 if resubbed??

Thanks for the feedback

No. All four corners on the back show some softness, bottom left corner on the front is soft as well. Centering on the back is noticeably off. Centering on the front is off, more so top to bottom than left to right.

Very nice copy but unless there are some heavily greased palms involved this is in no way a Gem Mint card.

No for the reasons above. I'd strongly advise against trying to play the 'bump' game with these high end cards.

Agree… this is not a 10. I’d be happy with the 9

This is really nice PSA 9 card! If PSA had 9.5, it prob would been that. I wouldn't risk damaging the card while cracking it out or while in transit. You should keep it as is.

The centering is like 48/52 at worst both ways. So that is not playing a role here. The corners look gem mint to me for a 79 Topps card

If you did that, it would be a very costly mistake. Assuming you are thinking of cracking it and sending in. If you want to throw away less money, send it in slabbed for a review.

It has no chance at anything higher. None.

Fact.

Given the card is already imaged with PSA would be very doubtful this wouldn’t get caught on resubmit. No way they’d give a bump if you crack it out. You could ask for a review in slab as mentioned, but that NEVER works.

Gorgeous card no matter what the stupid piece of plastic says.

Imaged from PSA would work on a serial numbered modern card, there is no way they will catch a Gretzky RC with the amount of them subbed in. This card could have been subbed 10 times already, how you going to know any better?

As for the example, this card is maxed out at a 9, leave it in the case.

You might be right, but PSA would have us believe otherwise: https://www.psacard.com/articles/art...rading-process

This card would not have taken 10 submissions to get a 9, and there have only been two examples graded a 9 in the past 3 years
