Members got a $15 discount on one box. Had members gotten $15 off per box in case form.....still high, but may have been more tempting.

Didn't realize it was only a 6 box case. Not sure $90 would have even changed my mind.

Cases are tempting since autos should fall roughly 1 per case. I love FF but $250 after tax is rough. Should be able to pick these up in a few weeks for closer to $200-$225 so I’ll wait.

That's 1 auto and 6 gold for 1300 pre tax and shipping.

Knew it would be higher today, despite what Topps CS claimed.

I haven't ordered anything from Topps since 2022 Update Sapphire. Fun coupons are a no go now, correct?

CAse of Flashbacks around $1331 shipped w/ coupon. $221-ish per box.

The case price looks good if it were 12 boxes...

Right. I went through the checkout motions to check the case price after the coupon and said WAIT, this is only 6 boxes.

I ordered the Monty Club box, as I always liked '96 Finest..may order a second box tomorrow if still available...but the price just seems steep for a 1 in 6 box auto shot..when a wax busting addict like me starts to back away, that's a red flag..I know it's high but I really should resist the temptation this time...

I gotta say after 3 years of FF there are always more hits than advertised and I've pulled some utterly beautiful cards from these boxes. Two autos in one box last year. Print runs low compared to Finest flagship. Good product if a little steep. Always enjoyable...

The 2023 "hit rate", i.e. the chance to pull a card that is not guaranteed in the box, is 1/4th the rate of 2022. And yet the price MSRP jumped 20%.

If 2022 was steep, 2023 is vertical. I'll be going hard on singles but there's no way I'm paying $240 for a box.

Will be fun when no singles are on the market because no one will be opening at $225/$240.

Comical price hurts every aspect of the product all the way down to singles.

I’m sure Michael Rubin’s lackeys read this forum. Fanatics destroyed the Montgomery club. Perhaps that was the intention - ending the club. Using the program to sell overpriced junk before it sits on the website makes club members look like fools. Fanatics should be ashamed of itself.

i think it depends on what you consider a hit this year. it seems like there are far more short prints, or uncommon cards, this year compared to last. it's a different set structure consistent with 1996 so you may have to adjust your thinking a bit...

I'd consider a hit to be any parallel/auto/insert not guaranteed by the pack odds. The pack odds guarantee 1 refractor, 5 uncommon base, 1 rare base, and 1 SP base.

2023 FF total "Hits" (assuming 14.5k boxes)
Refractors: 14,306
Protector Refractors: 2,000
SuperFractors: 200
Autographs: 2,447
Autographs SuperFractors: 33

That's a total of 18,086 hits. Each box is guaranteed a refractor, so we'll subtract 14,500 from that number and we're left with 4,486 additional hits. So 30% of boxes will have an additional "hit" if we assume there are no boxes with more than 2 hits.

The 2022 FF pack odds guarantee 1 refractor, 1 SP, 1 Insert

2022 FF total "Hits" (assuming 14.4k boxes)
Refractors: 19,200
Refractor parallels: 28,600
Protector Refractors: 2,200
SuperFractors: 220
Inserts: 14,400
Autographs: 930 (ignoring buyback because the odds are wrong)
Autograph parallels: 1,740
Autograph SuperFractors: 42

That's a total of 67,332 hits. Each box is guaranteed a refractor and an insert so we'll subtract (14,400 x 2) from that number and we're left with 38,532 hits.

Directly comparing the products, both guarantee a refractor, an SP, and a 1/box rare (insert for 2022, rare base for 2023). There's a diff of 34,046 "hits between the products.

To put it simply, 2022 FF hobby boxes have an average of 2.3 additional "hits" (autographs or refractor parallels). 2023 FF will instead have 5 uncommon base cards (un-numbered but should have a print run of about 1,450) and 0.3 additional hits per box.

So we're trading $40 and 2 refractor parallels for 5 uncommon base cards. Not a trade I'm willing to make.

With the 1996 design, I'm more excited about the uncommon base cards than the basic refractors from last year., but yes it is overpriced.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love the 96 design. I'll be buying lots on ebay to complete a set. I just can't stomach the wax price and personally I'd rather have the refractors if I'm opening wax.

I appears as thought the FF cases "sold out" on Topps' website sometime in the past couple hours. Boxes are still available though.

Imagine opening a case of cards and only getting 1 numbered hit. That will happen with FF this year. The only numbered hit will be the auto.

Looking forward to seeing the break. I'm holding off buying until I see some ripped. I'm also hoping for an (unlikely) drop in prices on the secondary market.
