OPC Platinum would be ok, Trilogy would actually be better imo if he isn't a redemption as you get one auto per box, plus everyone and their mom will be holding S2, and it will be printed way less, same for Synergy although I'd rate it under Trilogy and it doesn't have an auto guaranteed but some super low # rookies.

Also Synergy/Trilogy have no retail, you still see Mcdavid retail packs in MJ Holdings repacks, and that was before they produced as much as they do now, you'll never get a chance to hit the chase (YG) of his from those products in a repack years down the line at Wal-Mart which makes it a good candidate imo. Regular OPC I'd say he'd have to become pretty legendary to be worth it as it's basically his lowest end rookies besides MVP and will get crushed as other products come out so not a great hold.

Many big box stores are starting to sell retail only online. That will make it more difficult to get retail with all the bots.

So I just got an email from UD e-pack pertaining to 2023-24 NHL Game Dated Moments coming next week...

There will be a base set for Rookies, Rookie Debuts and Debuts numbered to /1199.

I don't pretend to really understand how e-pack works, but it looks like you can level up to special variants that can then be sent to you...

If these are available in physical form somehow and at sometime, could this end up being Bedard's first card in a BlackHawk's uniform???

Not super familiar with epack, but I've dabbled a little. I believe all cards can eventually turn into physical cards. Either at a 1-1 ratio or sometimes you have to get like 10 ecards for 1 physical card.

All Game Dated Moments cards are physical. However, once you purchase them, you have to wait 8-12 weeks usually for the cards to actually be printed and therefore be ready to send home.

Series 2 back up at $300 a box. The price manipulation is absolutely crazy.

Whenever there's generational talents in the sports like Berard and Wemby, a lot of people come out to try making $$$ including kids/manufacturers/dealers/clectors. It looks it gotten worse since pandemic...I don't recall it being so bad back when other generational talents came prior. Products were readily available for few years after their debut with mostly reasonable prices.

GDM cards are physical like UD said, and his Team Canada ones especially the variants did really well but good luck getting one if it's him as it's almost impossible to even get the Marvel cards they do which are going to be way less popular than a Bedard

And yet, you can still get retail at MSRP. I thought retail at MSRP was the play when hobby boxes were $200 and definitely think they're the play at $300. I'm tempted to order more tins but already pre-ordered a lot.

Hobby box at $300 (6 YG/box) vs. a tin at $60 (3 YG)?

What's the main difference? Can you only get Canvas in Hobby? If you're gonna get S2, seems like retail is a no-brainer at this point.

the rare parallel things are only in hobby, but they are going to print so much it wont matter, you wont hit any. And tins may have "4" YGs

There's also a tin-exclusive Bedard parallel, which adds to their appeal.

There are no retail boxes and gravity feeds are supposed to be hobby store only, from what I hear.

My LCS said they were getting 42 cases of hobby so I'm not ordering anything at these prices. A lot can happen between now and the release date.

My LCS still has the old price of $150 but preorder sold out.

I expect it will end up being 300 once they get "preorders" back in!

Will probably grab 2 preorders for game used and sit on them
