I put together 1 set. After that 1 completed set I have 3x as many 0-100 cards left than 101-200. Probably could have put together another set but didn't spend the time. Seemed to have received anywhere from 2 base to roughly 6 base of any particular player

Do you mind checking your refractors, shimmers and non-auto parallels as well? I'm curious if this applies to only base.

Yeah, I think the expected number of base cards per player out of a case is around 4.5 with perfect collation.

I only got the four boxes but here is a chart of the number of cards 0-9, 10-19, etc.

Interestingly I got exactly 200 cards under 100 and exactly 100 cards over 100.

Small sample size of course.




And to make this post not all about math, I got this in my last box (clean surface thankfully). Overall love the rip, lots of color, lots of fun.

Just an FYI - I also received a shipment of Topps Update baseball instead of BUC. Got an email this AM letting me know they were aware and that they’d ship the BUC out by EOD. Also, I can keep the baseball boxes!

It's good of Topps to let people keep the BB Update. They could have been sticklers and asked for the boxes back and provided a free shipping label. Instead what they did is customer service done right.

If this was Panini they'd probably send an invoice for the baseball cards and charged to ship out the football cards. Cause.... poopnini.

When the Stroud image variation first came out w/ the 2021 set, it had a couple of sales for the $1500ish range if I remember correctly. BUT it was a redemption and non-licensed. On the other side, it's a bigger fan base in OSU and it was the first release of Bowman.

Will be interesting to see the result, especially as a UNC fan

It's funny you say that. When I called yesterday Topps said they would sending me a "free" return shipping label for the Update baseball cards. In fact, they even sent me an e-mail with the label last night. Today to my pleasant surprise I received the e-mail I showed above. So clearly I will be keeping the update cards for my kids

No duplicate inserts within any 1 box and only 2 dupe inserts across all 3 boxes, not bad at all! For base, 0 dupes within any one box, which is always a big plus in my book.

As some others noted, for base I also have a disproportionate amount of 1-100 vs 101-200.

Box 1 base: 49 vs 26 (0 dupes, 75/200, 37.5% of set)
Box 2 base: 51 vs 24 (0 dupes, 75/200, 37.5% of set)
Box 3 base: 50 vs 25 (0 dupes, 75/200, 37.5% of set)

In my small sample size, for every one card that is 101-200, I got two cards that are 1-100. I thought I read on the thread that case breakers it eventually evened out for them. For what it's worth on the Refractor front (4 per box), I pulled 12 regular refractors and 6 were 1-100 and 6 were 101-200. Xfractors (2 per box) were also evenly distributed.

Collating all three boxes together I'm at 155/200 or 77.5% complete, not too shabby!

here's what I'm missing:
1-100: 10 30 58 65 72 75 87
101-200: 112 114 118 120 122 126 127 129 131 132 135 136 139 140 142 144 145 147 149 152 161 163 164 165 168 171 172 175 176 178 184 187 189 190 192 195 197 198

Here are my dupes:
1-100: a lot
101-200: 101 102 108 117 133 143 150 154 159 173 181 182

May sound quaint these days, but if anyone is looking to trade to build sets, hit me up.
