Saw some of these boxes as Target. Crazy how heavy they are compared to others when they technically have less cards, guessing these are thick like the masterpieces?

Yep these are thick like Masterpieces. 2017 Fleer Ultra Spiderman and 2018 Fleer Ultra X-men were also thick.

Fleer Ultra is a mid-tier Marvel set, somewhere in between 'lower end' Marvel like Marvel Annual and Beginnings, and 'high end' marvel like Masterpieces.

Interest in this product seems to have died. These medallions are dirt cheap on the secondary market. I'd pick up more but sadly I don't think they have the nostalgia factor that PMGs have to ever take off again int terms of investment, aside from the stuff that is /25 or less. Too bad so much product is on Epack where I doubt they will ever have sales on Marvel ever again...or at least not in the near future. This needs to be a $150 box max.

People have moved on to Marvel Masterpieces. Then there will be the next premium set (Premier?). Attention spans are short and there's too much to collect. The silver lining is there will probably be some great deals near the end of the year.

I hope there will be some good deals - I could see physical going on sale for $199...but most if it will be sitting on Epack waiting for a BOGO. The question is, will UD bring back the sales? I hope so now that demand is cooling on all Low-Mid products.

They let 2017 Fleer Ultra Spider-Man sit here for 5+ years so I wouldn't hold your breath for a sale.

Well heck if we’re gonna claim all the sketches are just Mystique shape shifting, might be a welcome sigh of relief to some character collectors….since it’s not actually their character to get!

Maybe need to do that more often to get character collectors off the hook, like for a high end set like masterpieces.

Another site has full cases for $2450 and with a certain premier discount cases are $2400. Down to $200 per box. They’re really tempting me to buy a case. I do wonder if these will eventually get to like $2000 for a 12 box case?

It's crazy to think what might've happened if this set had released on Epack last year. I'm sure it would've already sold out.

They botched this set by not making the Medallions PMGs. Branding matters and if UD goes off-brand (ie release a set with Toughskins instead of Levis) then the secondary tanks.

Looks like next PMG set is Fleer Ultra Wolverine. Wait for that one.

I don't believe UD is putting PMGs into Fleer Ultra Wolverine. The next Meta set with PMGs I believe is an Avengers Metal set.

I randomly got an absolutely gigantic sized package a couple weeks ago from COMC. Totally forgot I requested shipment for the FUA uncut sheet several months ago. They didn’t have it available to ship at the time, so I guess they finally have them ready. Anyway, here it is (not rolled to ship, why package was so big)



It is not thick size like the cards, but it is still standard uncut sheet card stock (not a poster). Unfortunately the back is blank…UD being a little lazy there, since usually uncut sheets have the backs of the cards.

I wonder if the thick cards are assembled differently? Is there a separate sheet for card backs and the FUA cards are 2 separate front and backs glued together? However, if that was the case you’d think there would be a number of mismatched front/back errors reported. What is more likely the case is this sheet is just a reprint basically on a blank backed sheet. At any rate, would still looked cool framed and when hung you wouldn’t see the back anyway.
