Don't lump me in with those people. A man and a women can absolutely be just friends, it's not debatable. At some point did this become a discussion on "should" they be friends? Thread is still hilarious assuming people are being honest in their responses.

Spoiler: She thinks ksemmel doesn't fully realize how he's going about things.

He's clearly recognizing that anytime he or his female friend get into a relationship that it's crucially important for both of them to make friends with the new bf or gf because a strict one-to-one relationship isn't really feasible when people are in separate romantic relationships.

She likes the way he's going about things but thinks he needs to realize that if he suddenly started demanding a friendship independent of the significant other that things would get messy fast.

This entire thread is baffling to me. While some guys may feel they cannot be friends with a female, that isn't a universal thought. One of my best friends is a female and she will likely be in my wedding when that time comes. My gf has met her, and they have hung out numerous times and developed their own friendship as well.

They can be but they choose not to. Thats what I gather from the few guys opposed to the idea. Its fine if they feel that way, I completely understand and agree.

Ironically only two people answer it (you being one and ksemmel).

Even though everyone judged me and Brass for our opinions.

Probably it's because everyone doesn't really have female friends or what they do together with their female "friends" are very basic stuff.

Ksemmel seems to be the only real poster from the opposing view. And honestly it seems like it works for them which is great.
