I'm not sure why this thread is still active. Some of us called it many moons ago. I sleep well at night, knowing that I can evaluate NFL talent better than 60% of the people on this board.

I watch the Coaches angle as well. Fields is not equipped for the pro game under any system. He can't even scramble correctly/protect the ball. This tells me that he has coasted on his talent up to where it wasn't good enough. Many such cases.
As true last year as it is today

The media and sports fans alike continue to be dazzled by the super athletic college QBs like Caleb Williams/Shedeur Sanders.

They get 2 years of experience and then dive into an NFL they are not ready for.

The defenses are 10x faster and tougher, difficult to read, and wrs are no longer wide open like they were in college.

Def agree with what youre saying in general but Caleb Williams is so highly touted because of his ability as a passer...way better prospect than Fields was coming out

NFL teams want guys that can do it ALL. They want prospects will unlimited ceilings, which is unrealistic and describes no one.

And between passing and speed...you can't coach speed, so these teams would rather draft the better athlete most of the time thinking they can turn him into a proficient passer. It's rarely happened.

Lightfoot? Like the former mayor? I don't understand what you are asking.

I no longer live in Chicago, and haven't for years. I now live in the wealthiest city in the Midwest, which just so happens to be 30 miles West of Downtown Chicago. And people here, don't live here because they have to. But rather once they can afford to live that lifestyle.

He's super into former Mayor Lori Lightfoot. He referenced her a number of times.

What does Lightfoot have to do with Bears being perennial also rans?

Did she block a new downtown stadium?

Janet Reno used to be a running gag on SNL in the mid to late 90's with a famous line from Norm McDonald saying " she won 2nd prize in a beauty contest with her face on the Monopoly card. Of course the audience howled in laughter and the feminists were taken aback and then Norm said the line again that she won 2nd prize to emphasize the irony.

Lightfoot would be 2020's version of that joke...

Some weirdo with ties to the impoverished town of Joliet IL brought her into the discord. No clue why. But I ran with it.

She did play hardball with the Bears on stadium renovations. But immediately backtracked on that, as it turned the city on her. Well, they were already turning. But that seemed to be the straw that broke the cities back.

I know this is starting to veer off in another direction but could someone from Chicago explain to me why city elections have only candidates not parties anymore?

Also does this have anything to do with why the Bears want to have a new Stadium in suburbs because of this?

Don't pull at that thread. Let's stick to Bears/Fields chatter.

I know it's another discussion but at one time Chicago had a Tammany Hall type Democratic party running the city that was just as corrupt and any new stadium could be rubber stamped if all of the beaks that drink at the corruption fountain could be fed.

without a machine behind any mayor large infrastructure projects like Soldier Field 2.0 won't get done without more horse trading.

Stop with the political chatter, it's not allowed. If you'd like to know, go to your local library and ask a professional to help you do some research.

As for the stadium, it's the same con game that any ownership group tries to pull on local municipalities. Bears hired a guy specifically to get it done. It's not getting done because the money doesn't make sense even in the best of times, and certainly not when the franchise is potentially staring at two straight years of hot garbage on the field.

They are only getting the Broncos once. A team that gave up 70 last week to a team down three scores today.

No one is giving Fields credit for this.

Yeah if Fields does this against a team that would not lose in the XFL we can talk.
