Would like to see Goldin follow through on their word to denote paid and unpaid items in the sales history.

Yeah, it's out of control on ebay. Saw a card last week end at $260+ in an auction, looked at the bids and the highest legit non-shill bid for the card was $38.

some people bid like that though. If the "market value" of that card is like $50, then sure it's garbage. But if it's a $300 card that the actual winner bids on with 2 seconds left? who cares.

Not with the high percentage of their overall bids with this one seller that has less than 100 total feedback.

lol would you now? You forgot so fast don't you Khal. A year ago you were supporting your buddies like Josh at Card Ladder who made a business pumping auctions and creating a balloon from clearly unpaid items from all auction houses and ebay.

It's so funny how things come full circle. At least PWCC took the feedback that was given to them....

We have banned the Consignor and the legal team is working on the matter. We have banned the multiple accounts that we believe we’re acting in concert with the Consignor. We have pulled 100% of this Consignors items, and our general counsel is contacting the winner of the card last week to cancel the transaction.
We take multiple precautions to avoid a Consignor trying to manipulate the price of his consigned item, which includes strict vetting of new bidders and credit limits. Unfortunately due to the lower value of these cards, it appears to have occurred, however corrective action was taken. We will be circulating this Consignors name to other auction houses so they are not victims of his actions.
If you ever have a question about an item, or want to express a concern and get the quickest possible response, email me directly. Dave@goldin.com
Will the increase in buyers premium up to 22% now go towards getting items shipped out sooner than 10-14 days and more secure than in the flimsy brown envelope they come in or……. Is it just for more profitz and tv show cred?

22% might be good for consigners who have to get rid of Apple computers and Beanie Babies and some of the other esoteric items on the Netflix show. But for sports cards under five figures why would anyone go with Goldin? There are many better options.

Shilling is rampant on "investment" type cards of "hot" players....across all five sports probably 40-50 players in total.

For the other 95% of the hobby it's non-existent.

We know it’s going on with Bonds’ cards.

As a recent example, I won an auction this past Thursday evening. I just today got the fedEx tracking # email. It was actually a PSA email indicating a PSA vaulted item was being shipped to me, from Collectors. So it took 2 business days, I'm good with that.

That 22% buyer's premium comes soon after they announced sellers only get 95% of hammer price in weekly auctions for cards <$2500. AND they are bringing back 3% charges for using a credit card. So increasing fees on both ends.

I don't know how to read that other than they are getting a bunch of cards they don't want in the auctions. I was giving the Goldin weekly's a try, but now it will have to be a special card or price to make it worth it.

Get people in at one price, then when growth stagnates or declines raise the price on whoever is left. Classic move right from the Netflix playbook.

Will your legal team be reaching out to the victims of the items that were shilled?? Of course not, but thank you for admitting to it.
Should I have my legal team contact your legal team?

They actually raised the BP to 22% earlier in the month. But they did so without an announcement, other than a temporary banner on the site that was up for less than a day I believe. The email about the BP raise was likely prompted by someone realizing you can’t change TOS without a formal notification.

Couldn't agree more. That and Exuberant prices on rookies that haven't even played a single professional game yet.

Anyone have information on the UPS packages they intercepted and returned to Goldin HQ over the weekend? Happened to me and many others with no clear reason why.

No. Still no notice of shipping 21 days after payment here. Goldin is the slowest shipper in the business.
