FWIW, this is my current buying pattern based on experiences with the company. To each their own and everyone has their own opinion/background.

Book-Ends; main place for me, no issues with them to date.
B&N; will hit the Black Friday table, but stopped online ordering with them, tired of placing orders 6-8 months in advance of release
Premier; cut way back after management change
BAM: nope
Waterstones; couple of orders pending that will determine future orders

But like I said, that's just me. To each their own.

Anyone taking a risk on buying Reese Witherspoon's book not knowing if it will be PP or AP or real?

I am. I have the email from their customer service stating that it will be hand signed. So if that turns out not to be the case, I have something I can produce if they decide to push back on any returns.

Any suggestions? I know it seems only like $25 not including tax and shipping, but still could be put to better use elsewhere. Should I write and inquire so therefore I would have proof as well? I don't always do private signings. I have made one purchase from PC and I still wonder if it is authentic. It almost seems too easy to forge. For me it's not the same as someone going to a Con for me or a private signing with someone reputable such as Official Pix.

Thanks

I would. Barnes and Noble sold autopenned books the last time around and I’m the proud owner of one copy of that garbage. This way you have other avenues available to you should they refuse the return.

Thank you for reaching out with your concern! We’re collectors ourselves, so we definitely understand why you want to double-check the signatures' authenticity.

As America’s largest autographed bookstore, we are privileged to work directly with authors and publishers on authentic signed editions. We do not sell books with autopens, secretarial signatures, etc., and we guarantee that each signature is personally hand-written by the author.

If you’re interested, we also Livestream a lot of our signings so that our customers can watch their favorite authors in action! You can see full signings and clips from some of these here: https://goo.gl/F3Bf28.

Thanks again for reaching out, and please feel free to contact me with any further questions!
I received the same reply this morning. Saved it and placed my order. Thanks again for the suggestion to email them directly so I have proof if it turns out to be an AP signature.

Most or all of the Millie Bobby Brown books are being suspected secretarials

I’m not surprised by this development. When she shortened her signature to her initials I feared the potential of this happening. I received 2 from Waterstones today and when compared to the ones I got last week from BAM, they look identical. The Waterstones books are signed on the title page and not on tipped in pages like BAM’s. I was hopeful that she at least hand signed the books from the UK sellers.

I assume that there isn’t enough proof to ask for returns at this time?

I was annoyed when I dropped $200 + to have my custom card signed and it returned with that lousy MBB signature.

To screw your fans over with autopenned signatures is enough for me to jump off her bandwagon.

So I ordered from waterstones and I'll just eat that one. But I am trying to return the four I got from premiere for store credit. Will let you know how it goes.

I have a BAM that has the loopy fish at the end. I have a Waterstones on the way which I'm sure has the loopy fish. Don't appear to be autopen machine signed, but live ink by someone's hand. I found out today she didn't even write the book, she had a ghost writer. the story is based on her life/ideas but she did virtually nothing to get the full credit and her name on the cover. Wouldn't shock me if the ghost writer is also the signer of the pages. even the live signings done just in the last week don't match the books we received.

Use that correspondence I posted in which they guaranteed that all their books were hand signed. Let them know our community shared this information and their reputation is taking a hit.

I didn't order the MBB book because I figured she didn't write it and if she did, it would be horrible. I already have her auto on a trading card or two.

Megan Fox autos are pretty cheap on Leaf cards. I think I bought one for $20.

I receive the Megan Fox email also. I much prefer this scenario over the MBB situation that we are experiencing. They also sent a 20% discount code that I used on Billy Dee signed books that finally landed on BAM.

Thought I'd share this as a bit of fresh air from all this, Winkler showing off his signed tip-ins and a link to lots of bookstores with his memoirs signed;
https://twitter.com/hwinkler4real/st...7Ctwgr%5Etweet

Maybe, just maybe all celebs should take note and if you can't shoot a video and pose next to your pages and say with a straight face they are your sigs, then just don't offer the option. Don't deceive your fanbase.

The funny thing is when I visited the two websites for the state of TN, neither tell you the book is signed. I even went to one where they have books that will be signed and not yet released and yet his book isn't there. Frustrating.
