The new iOS app updates and desktop page redesigns are nice in my opinion. I do wish they'd add the date stamp to each individual step. Instead you still get just Arrived/Order Prep and Complete dates.

Question for you PSA gurus. I rarely have cards graded, and I have never used PSA, but I do recognize the value a 10 can bring. I hit a sizeable card ($1,100 raw) that looks clean. It will be physically dropped off at PSA later next week, with express service. Looks like 5 day turnaround. When does the turnaround time actually start? Upon drop off? Could it sit a week before it’s logged in and then the clock starts ticking?

Just trying to understand what I should expect.

And another week goes by without any movement on a submission that has now hit 45 business days IN GRADING! Moved to grading on 07/13. Another one moved the 8/15 and another on 8/26. I know PSA will not say it, but they have slowed significantly. It will be interesting to see which have movement first. LOL!

My last five orders have taken two months door to door lately. Its been taking ~ 3 - 4 weeks to get Entered and then another month or so to pop. This includes the 80s and 90s+ specials and one Value Bulk 1980s+.

What are the cards? Did you submit yourself or through a bulk submitter?

I go through a bulk submitter and have averaged 4-5 weeks total. I do not have any vintage in any of them. It could be other cards in the submission. I am not complaining, but just showing there is a slow down, but those who submit their own cards, like you, probably is seeing the same thing. 45 days for a submission, through a group or personal, in grading is just ridiculous, but it is what it is. 90% of the stuff will be going straight to consignment.

If you want timeline consistency, you need to send it in yourself. I have found that its best to keep orders homogenous with the same types of cards. When sending in through a bulk submitter, who knows what types of cards yours get lumped together with. The 1980 - Present Value tier could be anything from 80s baseball to 90s die cut inserts / refractors up to UM Soccer that requires different graders that slow down the order.

The only noticeable delay I've experienced is getting an order to move from Arrived to Entered. For lower tiers, it is taking almost up to a month. After that, it moves fairly quickly through the process and is usually finished in another month. Shipping logistics make no sense. Sometimes it takes up to 10 days to get tracking after the cards pop (under the old system) or I've had orders ship almost immediately.

The clock starts when they unbox your package and it's processing/entered/researching & ID.

Understood, but it makes grade to consignment much easier!

When submitting to PSA at The Philly Show this weekend, can you do everything online and just drop off to them at the show instead of shipping?

Express is pretty quick, doesn't tend to sit around for very long before its fully entered into the system.
