In Sorare, Chase blocks purchases of Blockchain/Bitcoin, which SHOULD be illegal.

Wellsfargo cant wrap it's head around how auctions work in real-time, so when they see a 100.00 bid, and an instant 100.00 refund , it flags the account as the transaction is overseas. Sorare is setting up USD options next month, located inside the US, so less BS i hope.

When I spoke with wells fargo Fraud management, they told me that It's labeled as crypto in their ID system which is a mark and it's overseas, which is a 2nd mark, towards the algorithm locking the card on "odd" purchase histories and that it would not be able to "learn" the purchasing habits to avoid future locks. I think my card was locked 15-18 times before I opened a new account with Regions. Have had no locked card with them

Heard that the UFC Strike platform is basically shut down. Customer support has been shut down reportedly. This is why I was always afraid of putting big money into these projects, they could be shut down at any time and your money and moments are gone like a fart in the wind.

Oh it’s dead, I just bump it with the latest shenanigans they try to pull to keep the thing going in order to squeeze the last drop from people’s wallets.

And coming out with new drops and contests.

I may not have many people on it, but it seems to be alive.

Some people enjoy it and not care about the money, just the same as sports card collectors. Let them be.

The sorare cash wallet is supposed to go live this month so you can find your cash wallet with a credit card. Then you can use the cash wallet to purchase or bid instead of your credit card directly. That should get around that cc lock problem. I hope it helps with adoption so sorare can see some growth. It’s such an awesome concept for fantasy sports and I feel like the lack of FIAT purchasing options is the only thing holding it back from wider adoption in the US.

I'd say most topshot users, outside of the early adopters who claim to be collectors but made a killing are in it for the money. At least they aren't willing to lose money just to collect these. There has to be some kind of a return similar to opening a box of cards.

I mean is there anybody that actually is proud of owning serial numbered video highlights?

Not in this format, no. They diluted the product so much that it feels pointless to collect or to try and play.

If done correctly, I still think there could have been a way for digital collectables to be a fun chase.

I agree, lots of people were/are in it for the money. There are also people who are in it because they enjoy it and are fans of their team. I consider myself a diehard Bulls fan and I enjoy collecting cards because that's what I did growing up. Would I have picked up collecting cards now had I not done it years ago? Probably not.

I am in the tech space currently and conversely enjoy being apart of the Chicago Bulls TopShot community. I've been able to go to Bulls games, enjoy an outing at Dave and Busters, and play ball at 167 green street which has a view of the Chicago skyline. I didn't have to pay for any of those things, just had to own some Bulls TopShot clips to have an opportunity for those perks. So to me it's not just the video clips but it's the community behind it that keeps me interested in the space.

So to answer the second part, yes I know people that are proud to own serially numbered highlights. Just depends on how you look at it. Some might see collecting pieces of cardboard depicting sweaty men as something people shouldn't be bragging about.

So you didn't pay to go to those events because you have Bulls topshot clips which you must have received for free. Got it.

This is exactly why I don't share what I collect. I'm not here to promote anything and I still get these sarcastic comments. "Which you must have received for free"... keep on assuming whatever makes you feel good about yourself bud. I spent hard earned money on cardboard and TopShot before anyone was making money off of it. Just relax rifleman69, I'm not here to take your lunch money

This kind of aggression is why I like to dunk on Top Shot.

I was responding to someone's allegations and you think that's aggression. Just keep finding reasons to bump this thread every few months when no ones even talking about it anymore.

Wait, so now you admit you paid for these "experiences" after all. That didn't take long.

I collect both.

I like Top Shot because they capture moments better than just a photo on a piece of cardboard and easy to store, access and sell.

I like cardboard for autographs and game used memorabilia and easier to view on display.

Both have their merits and Top Shot I find better value currently

The logic of collecting/trading these "moments" doesn't sit well with me but I can't quite place it; I'd have to spend/waste time thinking it through. I'm guessing there's a whole buncha folks in the same boat, hence the tanking of this market after the covid bubble/madness.
