Don't think they need to shut him down for weeks at a time by any means, but he'd clearly benefit from having an extra day of rest throughout the season, perhaps the occasional skipped start

Maybe he will sign for half the money he deserves so his new team can get better players. Whatever it takes to win.

Huge card for me! One of the biggest pickups price wise I’ve made since getting back into collecting a few years ago. Very happy to have it and plan on keeping it for the long haul. (My picture skills suck)

Yeah I meant my comment as I don't think he can feel guilty leaving for the Dodgers even though he probably would love to remain loyal to the Angels.

Dodgers had their chance. Seattle is the front runner for FA.

I'm going with the Dodgers. Established stars around Shohei's age or a little older. A penchant for developing talent, lots of money, and he gets to stay in LA. Shohei did all he could for the Angels, and they didn't hold up their end of the bargain in putting a team around him that could win. The Dodgers have shown they can partner with him for mutual benefit - namely, winning. Or at least being competitive lol

If I had three chips to place, Angels - Dodgers - Mariners.

Hard to imagine anything else when you consider that Ohtani won't be lured with dollar signs. His personal brand is worth way more than any baseball contract that can be dished. I don't care if a team offers him a billion, he's not dense.
Never did I think in my lifetime that over half the kids on any given little league team would say they want to be like a Japanese guy. An entire generation ahead of us is going to view Sho like some of us view KGJ or Jordan.

How so? I think he'd be a Dodger right now if they had DH in 2018.

Easily. I can't believe I'm hoping he goes to the Dodgers but here I am. They're just a level above the Angels and Mariners. Watching Shohei in the WBC was incredible. His emotion in big moments was something else. I need to Shohei in the playoffs every year.

I would include Steph Curry to this list as well for the younger guys. All the young hoopers I've been around the last decade want to be like Steph. I feel like Shohei is now that guy for baseball.

I agree, Angels, Dodgers or Mariners (because of the Ichiro/Japan ties).

But anywhere Shohei chooses to be is ok -
I just want him to be happy and healthy throughout his career.

So this is “calling it”?

“Going to suck if he needs another TJ or other surgery, wasted his whole pitching career on the Angels.”

Well, we'll see who the real Shohei fans are now. Before any card stuff, I wish him a swift and smooth recovery. Two-time TJS has a much higher rate of success than past years (though not as goof as first time). If anyone can do it, it's him.
