I hear ya. He obviously just arbitrarily hit a wall and lost all of his talent and can no longer be one of the best hitters in MLB. He's, like, 25 years old so this is usually the time when old age starts catching up with players and we see a decline in performance. That's obviously what's going on here. Quite astute of you to notice it before anyone else.

The odds of him regaining elite performance levels again are virtually impossible. Nobody after the age of 25 has ever been able to rebound from a minor setback. A lot of people that buy Soto are buying for the complete picture, not just a quick snapshot of whatever he's doing over the course of a brief period of time. Those people are fools. A player is only as valuable as their last 4 at bats.

I mean, he is 3rd in career OPS of all active players behind only Trout and Judge.

... and 40+ points higher than Freeman, Acuna, Harper, etc.

Was thinking during the game that the Padres haven’t been able to build upon any success this year. And sure enough, their longest winning streak is three games. Haven’t been over .500 since May 10. Unbelievable.
