Not sure the extra $10 for a Relic is worth it. Chances you pull an Auto Relic will be astronomical and an Auto of a top RC even higher. I'd rather do the Chrome one myself.

Yes, the new MSRP has killed things. This stuff is going to start stacking up at Target/Walmart.

My Target (which I had not seen well stocked in years) must of had over 40 Optic blasters and Bowman Megas...

That is pretty normal for both Target and Walmart. 90% Junk Basketball, Football, and Hockey and 10% Baseball that is usually a series or two behind.

As much as Baseball Retail has dipped its amazing how much Basketball retail has died.

The 2023 Bowman Mega Boxes are way diluted compared to last year. I only pulled 1 numbered card in 3 boxes vs. Multiple autos and numbered cards out of 6 2022 megas.

That was my experience as well and why I won't be touching anymore.

As overprinted and saturated as all of this is , I’d still rip a lot of it at old msrp . I’m hoping this is the best Black Friday ever (for the consumer at least )

It’s pretty awesome how Fanatics and Panini took one of the best aspects of the hobby and turned it into complete trash. The mismanagement of retail wax is next level bad business. Retail may never recover.

Yeah it’s junk at these prices but if 2017-2019 prices I would buy a lot more even with these rookie crops / print runs

I don’t think you would though. Because we’d be back in the era where almost all of this stuff gets marked down because it doesn’t move. Or you’d buy in bulk through BO, DACW, etc because it’s cheaper.

I was buying marked down 2018 Optic BKB Megas at my local Walmart in fall 2019. That’s how little demand there was for retail at that time.

I stopped buying retail cards at target. I get all my stuff at barns and noble, with membership cards are much cheaper to buy.

The retailers always seem to be several months, if not years, behind the market. I don't know who's in charge of shelf space and revenue per sq/ft in these aisles, but they should hire one of us to consult and let them know..................this stuff isn't going to move at these prices.

Let it overstock. This years overstock will be next years clearance and repack products.

What is the deal with the 2023 Chrome boxes? The blasters are 34.99 (7 packs) and the "value" is $49.99(8 packs)...Is this an error?

B&N Membership is awesome on its own. Adding their rewards program to member your card for free makes it even better. Its virtually 10% additional off in rewards, and there have been three weekends since July, where points are tripled so 30% off.

Plus my B&N keeps the cards behind the counter, which is phenomenal. While I dont buy much anymore (because lets be real the wax value is abysmal right now) I have actually hit some big cards.

I literally bought my first retail from WalMart in 2-3 years the other day, Topps Chrome....and it was clearly the left over boxes from weighers. Lesson Re-Learned.

Something would have to change with the current retail format. Either bring back the pack/box odds of before (for instance baseball was like 1 gold/rainbow out of any fat pack and basically 1 per blaster) with the current pricing or with the increased print run, lower it back to the old pricing at $19.99 a blaster and $9.99 a hanger. Even with chrome's buy back program, you could still do $24.99 a box with it vs $34.99.

I grabbed two mega boxes of Topps chrome the other day at Walmart along with maybe a few more items expecting to be out the door for $120 or less. I had to get the lady to remove the mega boxes from the self check screen when I saw my bill was closer to 160. Was that a mistake? Are the megas really $70 each now?
