I wish Topps made more cards like that. Very classy and sophisticated. I'd buy a poster of that.

I had that Black and White but a sepia /60 and sold it raw last year. Never mad at profits, but I miss that one.

Thank God he may be out for the season and the Yankees are done with him to free agency. He might as well retire between his attitude and crappy offense.

Still not more valuable on a losing team than a guy who carried his teams offense on his back to prevent a total second half collapse and miss the playoffs not to mention interrupt every game to watch his at bats to see if he'd make history.

Ohtaini never did that last year. You might see the second part going for history this year if the Angels don't trade him to the NL though.

Easily the most deserved MVP this year if not traded to NL. No way he should have won it last year.

See? That right there is where you lose the argument. You think a player's value has something to do with his team's results. That doesn't make a lick of sense.

If Ohtani went out there and threw a no-hitter every fifth game, hit 55 home runs, and batted .400, but the rest of the team sucked and they went 62-100, would he still not be the MVP? Just because someone else's team sucked less, allowing him to "carry them on his back" because there wasn't as much dead weight TO carry?

At any rate, it's done. Judge will always have the trophy. And Ohtani will, soon enough, have the contract that demonstrates how much more valuable actual baseball teams, as opposed to writers and Yankee fans, consider him to be than Judge.

I mean, if Ohtani threw a no hitter every 5 games and hit 55 HRs last year, he probably would have won MVP, regardless of team record. But that's not actually what happened.

Thanks guys. The B&W is /1666 and as mentioned before the sepia is /60. There’s also a B&W version with the “State Farm” advertisement in color that’s /25. I was originally looking to pick up all 3, but the prices on these have exploded.

The 2018 B&W Ohtani/Trout is also pretty cool

Slated to pitch again Friday. I hope he's actually healed up this time.

Got an email from PSA today and some scans while cards are on the way.

They liked it so much they gave it four 10's on the flip.

Happy birthday to me.

There's a reason for this that was discussed ad nauseum last year.

Not much of an argument to lose. How many MVPs came from losing teams that didn't make the playoffs? If Ohtani did what you stated and Judge didn't do anything close to do what he did last year, I would agree with you. The Yankees didn't suck last year. They had the best record in baseball for almost the entire 1st half and writers were predicting they were going to break the all-time season win record. They had injuries in the second half and some pitching issues and Judge's offensive production ensured they stayed in first place and/or kept a playoff spot.

And yes, Ohtani is going to get paid more than Judge as he plays two positions. I certainly wouldn't want the tail end of a 10 or 11 year contract with the money he's going to be paid saddled by the Yankees. Unless he is superhuman or starts doing steroids, it's going to be very difficult for him to play both positions at the high rate of success he is doing now when he is 38 - 40 and earn the ridiculous amount of money he'll be making in those years. I's why he'll probably only go to a big spending team as I imagine if a team picks accustomed to not spending money picks him up, they most likely would have a hard time building anything around him to win. Like the Angels and Albert Pujols 2.0.

Since some of you are hoping he breaks Judges AL Homerun record (although as a Yankees fan, I wouldn't care; just like I didn't care when Alonso broke the Rookie HR record. I would just be sad that it got broken the next year instead of standing for awhile), I actually hope he gets traded or signed with the Yankees so the fan boyz/Yankees haters heads could explode.

I obviously love both Ohtani and Judge and would enjoy watching Ohtani give Judge a run for his money this year. I do feel bad for Judge if it gets broken right away like the HR rookie record with Alonso.

Imagine if Ohtani/Judge become the next bash brothers.

When Judge went down and Ohtani started hitting homeruns at a record pace, I felt it was a missed opportunity to have a clean, non-roided race between two greats to put McGwire/Sosa out of everyone's minds for good.
