That's what I'm saying, my man. I don't mind selling my extra stuff for insane prices, but I want to buy other stuff too. I can't do that with all the drunk sailors tripping over themselves spending $1K on a base chrome

Seems like Angels will slip further from playoff contention, they’ve got to consider trading Ohtani.

But would the teams that fancy their chances of signing him in free agency really want to give up a haul of prospects for a rental then pay up in the off-season as well?

Unless the Angels feel REALLY great about resigning him, they have to deal to him...right? Take what you can get. You can't let him just walk. But its the Angels...so screwing it up, is in the bloodline.

Rough outing for Shohei/Angels overall. As a Shohei fan, I want him as far away from the Angels as possible. As an Angels fan, I don't want him to leave.

Rendon went down today too after just coming back not too long ago. He went down by fouling a ball into his own knee. 🥲

I doubt they would get a haul for a rental. If they think there is any chance they can resign him I’d roll the dice and take the draft pick comp if he walks.

Man, I'm no Rendon fan but that looked like it was fouled directly into the lower-inside portion of his kneecap. He went down like he had been shot and I'd wager it felt like that.

It hurt me to see that shot.

In other news, Angels are Angeling and as much as I was hoping he would stay and they'd become a perrenial playoff team, I'm now worried that the clubhouse chemistry, facilities, staff, etc. will be off wherever Sho gets traded. It feels like he's a creature of habit and he's comfortable in Anaheim. Tough to put a $ amount on comfort...

The best player in the history of the world looked great last night huh.

At 29 years old like it or not, statistically and historically he should start to decline now...

Will be interesting to see how these statements hold up in the future.

It's not an opinion statement, just facts. Historically, players best years are between the ages of 26-29, of course there are some exceptions but top level performance in your 30s isn't the norm.

I've got some really cool Sho's on the way. Should be delivered right on time for my bday.

I just talked to my Japan inner circle guy. Ohtani is alive but on life support. Family will decide today wether to pull the plug or not. Body parts are being sold to the highest bidder. Trout, Zion and Ja are first in line.

Always happens when people buy in late and prices don’t go up so they can flip or the haters who never bought in. These are the ones just waiting to look smart for not buying. They rarely post when prices are going up.

Trust me doubting Shohei is never a smart move. He always seems to bounce back and I am not a pumper just someone who is still eating crow for a thread I started years ago.

I’ve been buying some singles and wax this year of Ohtani - 1st time. He has been, up to now, in my ‘do not buy’ column because of not meeting 1 of the key criteria I look for it in a rookie - but screw my criteria ! The guy is just awesome, and I’m making an exception for exceptional talent

Asian people age a little differently. Ohtani also takes care of himself better than any athlete known. Never any guarantees, but if there's someone pulling a Brady in this sport, it's him.
