Default Can any BC experts explain this anomaly?

A potential ebay bidder messaged me today regarding my 2022 Bowman Chrome Yanquiel Fernandez non auto refractor I have up for auction. He noticed that my version listed has the /499 serial # , but ALSO says "REFRACTOR" under the #. I checked several #/499, blues, purples, etc of the same card (#BCP-191) and none say 'Refractor ' under the #. It's odd and I never caught it until this guy messaged me.

1st 2 shots are front back of mine, 3rd is a sold YF refractor.

Does this happen occasionally? My best guess is printing error..? But I have no idea.

Card companies do sometimes make changes during printing. Could be they started without 'refractor' but caught and corrected it, though I don't know how involved that would be. Could be a separate printing for retail vs hobby, something like that.

Should say refractor on the back. I see other examples of /499 refractors from 2022 Chrome not having the word.

Bowman vanilla /499's have it and the unnumbered refractors from Draft have it.

After investigating further, it looks like it should only say 'Refractor' under the card # is when it's stamped /499 on the front (see Chourio). I can't find any other 1sts with the /499 and 'Refractor' on the back..strange indeed.

Checking eBay, most of the versions of this Yanquiel indeed have the serial number on back and no refractor.

I did find two sold listings of this Yanquiel with both the serial number and refractor on back. One is #131/499, other I cannot see because the pic but looks like #1XX/499.

So there are at least a few. The ‘no refractor’ is clearly the more common one. My best guess is a printing variation.

Is one from Bowman, and the other from Bowman Chrome or Bowman Draft?
