Reds are 9-2 in the games Elly has started since being called up. Not sure if its just him or not. They look to be a completely different team the last couple weeks.

The addition of he and McClain has made a huge difference to the overall dynamic of the lineup. Stephenson has been way underwhelming but India is steady and Steer, Freidl and Fraley all are good ballplayers in my book. When they add the CES kid it will be a real fun team to track especially as summer heats up in that yard. Pitching wise I have no idea what happened to Ashcraft but Greene and Abbott look solid and I’m still dreaming on a healthy Lodolo being a frontline starter.

Andrew Abbot was called up 1 day ealrier and it 3-0 with a 0.0 era. He prob has a little more to do with it the elly. ESP given that his war is 5x higher but nobody talking about him

It’s all of it. It can be both. And all of the others. And the manager allowing them to gel and have fun.

They have won tons of these games by 1 and he has manufactured lots of runs with speed and steals. They both have had a great influence. Sit back and enjoy or just squabble on the internet and miss out on the fun.

I’ve watched most of these games from beginning to end. He has a good understanding of the strike zone, but is struggling with off speed pitches. He can adjust. He won’t be a .300 guy, but has potential for .250-70 with 30 steals and some power.

Anyone could be just as negative about Andrew Abbott. He completely falls apart after the fifth inning and the bullpen bailed him out. You can look at it that way or enjoy the five amazing innings he throws before that point.

My couple cents for what they are worth. I stream all the games. Can't say I have missed an at bat......(my apologies ahead of time if I am hitting a point thats all ready been made)

They pitch him backwards. Which is kinda odd. (off speed early--fastballs late)

He's taken plenty of strike threes looking at pitches right down the middle. Probably guessing a bit.

He is a real problem for teams on the base path. Lots of pressure on the defense.

Interesting at bats when he faced Grienke and Wainright. Their approach kinda telling.

Not sure if short is his destination position. is his arm a rocket? It truly is---but he holds it too long. I think McLain gets it there faster because he gets rid of it sooner (if that makes sense)

As far as Mclain. He looks at though he will hit 300+ forever. Too early for an molitor/biggio comparison??

Votto coming back. Wonder the impact in everyday lineup. Can't help that his influence in that dugout isnt truly impactful.

I am a Homer. They are a fun team to watch. Stros havent been swept at home since 2021.

And for elly deficiencies, he is really young. Pitchers have adjusted a bit---and so wil he. I think Bell does a great job---maybe a bit too much pressure on the kid batting him 4th would be my only issue.

He has a 0.0 era and is averaging .5 war per start. We just have different views in what completely falling apart means.

Obv he will regress but if a rookie is tracking for a 15+ war seasons is ok to say yea he is directly responsible for a lot of the recent success.

He's walking 4.58 per 9, a .200 babip, and has a 100% left on base percentage.

It's a team game, no doubt, but having a 6'6 young stud that runs like Usain Bolt playing for you every day that looks and plays the part that he was called up for has a lot more influence on teammates and each game. However, I would recommend starting the pitcher's own thread but be mindful on how you title it. "Abbott is better than Elly" or any similar iteration probably isn't a good one.

at $90 / hobby box doesnt it sound to good to be true?

Ellys Base Rookie will probably sell for $20-$25 while Davis-Matos could be in the $10-15 range.

By this time PSA should have a $10-12 grading level


Any thoughts on the potential of this product as well as the current price?

I think it could be one of the hottest products if not the hottest of these past years.

Lol $10-15 for Matos and Davis? You'll be lucky to get $3 shipped for a Rutschman, and he's got way more hobby love than those two.
