I think the part that I hate the most (and Panini does it all the time).. is not releasing the complete checklist before selling the product... to me that is sketchy marketing at best an vaguely smells of bait and switch... I think it's a bad tactic for the degen gamblers that are infesting this hobby, and the manufacturer's are not called out on it...

Can any fellow MC members recall a product that exposed the true degens more than this Sapphire Tennis debacle? It is a historically bad product, from a sport that is a very long way from "The Big 4" regarding popularity, with almost no hope of a savior ("Maybe it will be Novak!"), not a limited run, etc., etc., but the usual suspects lined up yet again with eyes closed and wallets open - "Got my 2, it's a no-brainer!" - that it is, but not in the way you think.

Well, for me, both of my kids played tennis so I'm a fan of the sport. I also have had much better luck opening more limited product than mass produced stuff.

I have bought 5 blasters of Series 1/Heritage because I have amnesia. I have nothing but junk to show for it. It wouldn't be possible for me to do worse with this $120 than I did with that $120.

I can only speak for myself but my reasoning is I enjoy tennis and there aren't a lot of tennis trading card offerings out there with a healthy dose of "I've spent $120 on worse products" mixed in. Of course, anyone looking to flip this one will get burned.

To answer your question though, 2021 Topps Finest Basketball in all it's leisure suit- and fur coat-clad glory.

Isn't this the first time Topps Chrome Sapphire Tennis was released? How is it Historically bad?

I mean in terms of Tennis Ace, Netpro and I guess pro set tennis was ok, but it was not expensive if you just liked something different in regards to Tennis.

I mean this is better than cutting out SI for kids cards for tennis player cards, or buying Olympic team tennis player cards, or Allen and Ginter cards...blah

Yeah the avg guy on here hates this product because they can't flip it for 300% profit the instant they order it.

If you like tennis I don't see how you can go wrong with 2 boxes regardless of what you pull.

I grew up a big tennis fan. Some of the names were huge when I enjoyed watching/playing.

While I'm not an avid fan anymore, I liked the price point for some nostalgia, considering what Sapphire products go for these days - I grabbed two, one to bust and one to hold.

I'm not looking to make money. If I can, will I sell a box? Of course. But virtually everything wax that I've bought is purchased with the assumption it'll be worth nothing to others - it's how I collect.

Sure, MC has also netted me plenty of money that I've put right back into cards. But I don't assume that'll happen.

I've also passed on some releases that turned out well for others. Oh well, no biggie for me. If I don't like it enough at the price point - it doesn't matter how much is left on the table because I walked away from said table without looking back to see if anything's there.

If you like it, buy it, if you don't, pass on it....everyone has their own sports they like, regardless of box cost.

Yes, it says I've reached the maximum per household/etc....

It looks like you can't order 2 additional boxes with the same account. Oh well, 2 is enough.

most likely delays in maybe acquiring signed autos. or getting it out the door as tennis is on the backburner compared to all other sports products that Topps makes. at least there's no redemptions lol. I would expect to see another topps chrome release next year probably with some more relevant and sought after folks assuming they have access to use the likeness of the big names.
