This was an old post from preseason that had a bunch of sarcasm in it, but ohhhhh my god

.313/.397/.589 right now...

From 4/17 when he finally got his 1st Walk of the season it's actually .321/.422/.605. It's not a whole season, but it's not a few weeks either. EVERYTHING in his profile is still pointing to the fact that he might be getting better. Still just 1,025 MILB/MLB Plate Appearances...

Craziest thing is if you watch him play, he simply does not care about stats at all. He is only running when necessary. He's just as happy to take 2nd on a tag up as a SB. Absolute gamer and you can tell teamates/coaches/management/announcers (everyone!) just love/respect him for it.

DBacks now alone at #1 in the NL despite having the 11th highest payroll in the NL and being in the West with the Dodgers (#4), Padres (#2) & Giants (#6). If he wasn't the MVP favorite yesterday, he definitely should be today

Relax lad. Phillies are:

- 3-12 in their last 15 @ Arizona going into last night
- trying to dig out of a huge hole in the East
- playing the best team (arguably) in the NL right now

Last thing they wanted to do is give their best player free passes (while simultaneously giving said best team in the NL fuel to their fire…which is what ended up happening)

As of this morning most books show him somewhere between 15-1 and 20-1 for MVP. Still a decent number as Id guess he'd be 3rd behind Ron and Fred only at this point if they voted today?

When you say “Fred” I assume you’re talking about Frederick Charles Freeman? I don’t think he’s a lock to finish 2nd right now. It would be super close between him and Carroll.

And we never failed to fail; it was the easiest thing to do.
