I have been playing this "fantasy" baseball format since week 2 of the season. I dislike that defensive fielding is not a point awarding option, but other than that it's not too bad.
I was sent a referral link for those who would be curious in trying https://sorare.com/r/marlboroman If you DO try it, load your common team up. I THOUGHT..as a ballcard collector, that the wording INFERRED your common card, when level 20, would transform into a limited card */5000. I was mistaken. I then found out that 2 other Sorare buddies thought the same thing ![]() So you build your common team to try and win a limited card. Once you win your 1st limited in Minor, you are no longer able to use the minor league. You can use the allstar League, again, until you get limited. And major league tournament is the same. Your card, the 2023 version, gets a 5% increase to score. So if a player hits a home run he scores 10 points +5%=10.5. As you level it goes up to a maximum of 20. So the same HR is worth a maximum of 15 points. I HAVE NO IDEA how long it takes to get to the maximum on a card Now, if you enter the limited allstar you are REMOVED from the chance to enter the Major League tournament, which I think is BS since you can still play in the Minor/All star minor, and I ranted in Discord a bit ago about that. I think as NFT gets bigger, and that this also works as a functional fantasy baseball, the collection potential is nice. I have been treating this game Like I would a hobby shop. I prospect. If I win a limited card, EVENTUALLY....as RCs can only do so well , then I win. As my 160 or so prospects ive bought, GROW, I am sure I will, be it a year or 2..or 3...But those who want to jump in feet 1st, and I know 1 guy who did, and spend however much it takes to get Judge, Acuna, etc, etc, and compete to win cards they can sell for Ethereum, that's all them. I like the slow roll Anyway. If you want to have fun, ignore the referral link. OR avoid buying a card for 30 days. If you buy a card you cant do majors, if you dont, you cant win your referral reward which i have NO IDEA who they are as it says "Up to tier 3" (So no Aaron Judge:P ) If you want to prospect or mess about and are in to crypto, then sure, click it, sign up and try it. Just don't bid against me....and ill do the same *Insert random, disarming , smiley face*

I can second this. I started playing sorare NBA at the all star break and was hooked. Sorare MLB has been a lot of fun. Surprised this hasn’t taken off more than it has. A lot of international folks playing. Maybe the crypto scares folks off here in the US? It’s a lot of fun though. I really like the fantasy baseball format they use and really, really like the fantasy basketball format.

OMG
I just checked your gallery. You have spent SO MUCH less than I have and have won 5 cards so far...I suck You can give me tears, but limit the snickers. My Manager name is Marlboroman. You're goign to WTF I'm sure , but keep in mind I have come at this as a prospector A buddy on Sorare has tried to cheer me up in saying if the RC class does even decent over the next 2 years I will be sitting on a pile. I know that, but it would be nice to win even a T5 limited...*Sniff* without having to understand how some guy I've never heard of, has a CRAZY ARM on the 4th Wednesday of every 3rd week, if the rain in Texas is less than 1 inch for the day...Or at least that's how I feel I followed prospects and Braves, with a smattering of past prospects. I have NO IDEA who a lot of the "hot" players are beyond what you see on MLBTV's replay reels.I am branching out, but it is slow. SOme of these winning teams make sense 100% when they have Cole, Chapman, Judge, Acuna, Arenado, Trout, and WHY is the last flex guy a pitcher in so many players wins???? I mean a pitcher has a so-so outting he pulls in 20-30 points for 1 out of 3 games. Why not a so0so batter who can pull 40+ points in 3 games? I mean, who is Rich Hill, Andrew vaughn,...Tanner Scott (You know this guy is between 24-29) Rich hill, Tanner Anderson( Another *That era of naming* guy :P ) There's jsut so many players that I have not heard of who help win rewards and it is maddening I do not want to cinch my belt up and drop 1k to field a 1k team. I want to win elegantly like you have Doesn't matter if I win T5s and nothing lower, because I wont have blown 1k to win a t5..because THAT WOULD happen with my knowledge of day to day mechanics.AND OMG...How do you know what relief pitcher is going to be called on in a 3 day period? I have SO MANY danged DNPs over relief. I look, I saw Cano had not pitched in 2 games, figured he would pitch in 1 of the next 3...nope. CJ Lee...Nope...Waldichuk was slated, had the PP by his name....and he was scratched. Didn;t add him the next, and he plays and does well. OMG IT'S SO CONFUSING!!!!! But it is fun fighting for the cards on the auction house I have pulled in 11 1/5000 cards...because I was indoctrinated that 1,5000, and Jersey number cards are better than the rest, which seems stupid in an NFT setting...but I can't stop doing it.

I’ve had a few lucky wins which helped a lot. I have not gone the rookie route necessarily but I do prioritize picking up some young guys that were high draft pick, haven’t really planned out yet, but are still young. I also prioritize former Tar Heels and Oakland A’s because that is who I follow. I have a ton of A’s players but they are dirt cheap but don’t really score much. I’m jealous of your Gorman card. I really want that one but not sure it is a good value right now for the price.
Another thing I’ve found is. A lot of times you can pick up the ‘22 card cheaper than what the card is selling for at auction. Sometimes the 22 card even has more positional eligibility but is still cheaper which is crazy to me. Mj melendez is an example. His 22 card is eligible for MI, CI, and OF. That is huge! He can play any position and has high scoring potential. I’ll check out your gallery. Might send you a trade or two. My one 1st place finish in common all star was huge because that won me a $50 card. Reliever has been very hard. You can get some good arms that are high use middle relievers for cheap. At least gives you an option to play someone in the rp spot that will get you something. |
