Hey, narrative can simply change almost overnight in the sports world. Maybe Jokic dominates and sweeps the Lakers and defeats either Celtics or Heat while averaging 40, 10 and 10 in the Finals. Maybe not? But I feel like this is why we all talk about the game we love- minus KhalDrago since he thinks it's a garbage product yet still finds ways to pop in every NBA threads.

Joker did all of this in understated fashion. While I love Shaq as a player growing up, I can't help but wonder if Jokic could surpass O'Neal in peak dominance and value as a singular player? If the Nuggets win the title this season, that gives Jokic 2 MVPS, 1FMVP a title and arguably one of the most dominant playoff run by a player.

Jokic has 3 MVP seasons where he's clearly the best player in the game. That's 3 long season which Shaq never reached. I also stated value because Jokic's impact far exceeds Shaq's during his title years. Shaq can score in the paint, clean the glass and alter any points in the point.


But Jokic has shown he can do more. He can also score in the paint but he can stretch defense because he can shoot a mid range and extend his range beyond the arc something Shaq could never do. Jokic can run a high octane offense which Shaq could never do. Jokic is an equally aggressive rebounder.

Jokic had 3 seasons of mind numbing efficiency that Shaq could never touch.

Statistically Jokic is great. The advanced stats love him.

What efficiency numbers are you saying Shaq could not touch? Let's look at them for Shaq. Top 20 in these three categories for 16 seasons.

Let's not also forget that teams also had to come up with the Hack-a-Shaq to try and stop him. He ended up shooting the second most free-throws of all-time with regular season and playoffs combined. A guy that "couldn't" shoot them was so damn dominant that he stayed on the floor despite that strategy.

Jokic has his pros. He's a mobile big man that has shown dominance in this era.

If you could somehow match both up in their prime, one or both will have two quick fouls against them. Shaq powering through Jokic down low. Jokic trying to pull Shaq away from the bucket and going around him.

This is good stuff and I appreciate this but I tend to go for TS% or some other means of efficiency on a macro level. I will address the post at a later time because it will take a bit more time but really good stuff indyguy

My apologies, my post was in jest and not meant to be taken literally.

The joke's setup was there were 3 people listed as some of "the best in this board" and one of them had a same day banning. The punchline was saying I was going to miss two longstanding and excellent members who are obviously not in danger of getting banned today.
