There are, but you aren't going to get them with topics like this.

You're taking a 3 or 4 season run against Shaq's career and asking if Jokic's one hypothetical ring would surpass Shaq. Never in a million years would anyone reasonable (not a Jokic fanboy) think that is possible.

If you had asked if this multi-season run of Jokic could surpass Shaq's best multi-season run, you might have something. You'd still be behind a couple rings, but at least that makes the conversation more feasible to look at specific times.

You probably would have gotten a better comparison if you compared Jokic to Hakeem or David Robinson. Hakeem was 13th on the top 75 and Robinson was 25. That is probably more the range you are looking at with Jokic in the long run. Shaq is arguably a top 10 player of all-time and considered the most physically dominant player ever. Jokic is definitely not the most physically dominant, but he is a statistical freak. Do it for 10 years and see where that lands him.

As for your impression that people are "trolling" this thread—you began the thread with a misguided question. No serious sports fan is going to actually consider a player with five or so great years to have supplanted all-time greats who performed at similar levels for 15+ years.

Now, if you wanted to compare "peaks" or "talent" or "who would you take in a single game"—that's fair game. Prime Jokic might well be the guy you'd draft at the center position if we're talking about a single game.

So this is why I clearly stated if Jokic could surpass O'Neal in peak dominance and value as a singular player? I know the ring argument and longevity clearly favors Shaq.


Jokic has 3 MVP seasons where he's clearly the best player in the game. That's 3 long season which Shaq never reached. I also stated value because Jokic's impact far exceeds Shaq's during his title years. Shaq can score in the paint, clean the glass and alter any points in the point.


But Jokic has shown he can do more. He can also score in the paint but he can stretch defense because he can shoot a mid range and extend his range beyond the arc something Shaq could never do. Jokic can run a high octane offense which Shaq could never do. Jokic is an equally aggressive rebounder.

Jokic had 3 seasons of mind numbing efficiency that Shaq could never touch.

I'm saying that 4-5 guys who probably run blood pressure meds daily referring to blowout lore and "hazing" people is tistic'. Judging the Frenzy guy, I'm probably very accurate with that statement. It's cringe is what it is. I'll move on but I think you guys are part of the problem why no one can have a serious conversation no? We talked Doncic, different opinions but at least it was a serious debate and there's no hard feelings. But calling people "PBMs" like some little insider pu--y is cringe as hell. I may have faults on the title of the thread and that's my fault and responsiblity but I think those who actually took time to read got the gist of it.
