It may be a “Zac Gallen” situation for him: No 1st Bowman, just a Topps RC.

I think he’ll miss the Topps Update cutoff, but we’ll see when his Topps Now card comes out. Mervis made the list, but the cutoff time is looming.

Remember that time I asked you guys about stashing Pérez in my fantasy league? A few of you advised me to go ahead and add him...so I did. A few days later I needed the roster spot so I dropped him. Then today the very owner I was trying to keep him from scooped him up before I could add him back.

I tried to pick him up last week, but I’d reached my max amount of roster moves. By Tuesday morning he was gone.

My conspiracy theory on why Schmitt didn't get a card after his 2-4 w/a HR debut is that Topps couldn't decide whether to slap an RC or a "call-up" on him.

I guess we’re reaching the date any day when the border is officially closed for callups to get RC logos in 2023 products. By recent historical reference the door could be slammed any day now, correct?
Maybe the recent delays in 2022 releases might signal a pushing of that date a bit? Doubtful but who knows..

Haha yeah 20ish minutes after Jaypers posted here about Pérez getting the call I rushed to add him, but the other owner added him a few minutes after Jaypers' post. They must have the same source...or maybe they're the same person and I just don't know it.

I think the date will be pushed much further this year.

Topps has shown us signs of improving their checklist turnover. It kind of went unnoticed but 2023 Topps Big League had almost all off-season free agent signings and trades on their new team. Months before we would normally see the switch. Series 2 has multiple RCs who made opening day rosters which hasn't been seen for a few years. I'm guessing our first "Call-Up" will be into June, possibly significantly. I'm really hoping this means they bring the All-Stars back into the Update base set to fill out the checklist but who knows.

Eury went for $15 in my $ yahoo league ($100 faab budget). Bryce Miller still the high point at $21, for some context. In my home league, I'm that team that snags him and puts in him a NA slot as soon as a tweet goes out that he's getting the call but most competitive leagues have gone to FAAB unfortunately

What's an NA slot? What platform gives you a spot to hide an active player?
