I don't see the Bears trading a perfectly good QB who kept them in a lot of games this year. On the other hand, if the Bears could somehow make that trade and still land a 1st round QB PLUS something else of value- they may do it. But if you are the Bears, do you just trade Fields straight up to have to turn around and draft another QB who may or may not be what you are hoping for when you already have Fields 2 years into the process and looking pretty good? I really think the Bears would need to get an early first round pick PLUS something else to make it worth their while. The Bucs currently have the 19th pick. Its safe to say that Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, and Levis will be gone by then and possibly Richardson. Hell if there is a run on QB's, Hendon Hooker could be gone. I guess what could make the most sense for the Bears is to trade Fields straight up for the Bucs 19th pick in the first round and then keep their early spot and draft a QB, and then they'd have a second 1st round pick. But again, do they want to start over with a QB when they have one that's just hitting his stride? I doubt it.
Plus if you are the Bucs who are hurting with the cap, can they swing the contract renewal for Fields when it's due. If they can't, then they would be back to square 1. I am calling it now, the Bucs will roll with Trask.

The word on the street is that this may be a package deal. Geno Smith who is a free agent, and who the Seahawks did not franchise tag, is possibly included as a package deal with newly hired OC Canales.

If true, I am going to laugh my ass off.

So, Geno Smith to the Bucs is looking like more of a reality.

The Bucs just signed Geno Smith's former QB coach Thad Lewis as their new QB coach, and Geno broke the news on his Twitter. The pieces are falling into place.

Sorta shocking that Ryan Succop got released. He was nearly automatic from 45 yards and less. Guess they are looking at adding a stronger leg.

Next to go will be Scotty Miller, now that Russell Gage is back healthy and both new OC Dave Canales and new Starting QB Baker Mayfield singing his praises.

Draft week! Hoping the Bucs can grab a solid OT, but if Nolan Smith falls I’d love them to go after him.

Partly expecting Devin White to be traded, honestly would be fine if he’s part of a trade with a second round pick to move back into the first.

Worst case scenario for Thursday is Will Levis. I’d be so disappointed

What I expect to happen
1st round - OT
2nd round - Edge rusher
3rd round - ILB

And then we have 2 5th rounders, 3 6th rounders and a 7th rounder. Would not be shocked to see us package a 5th and a 6th to move into the 4th if someone we like falls or maybe added to a third round pick to move into the 2nd or up in the third. I expect some trade activity for sure.

With the other roughly 6 picks, I expect a safety for sure. And another DT. And then probably add a RB late. Other than that who knows

Most reports I've seen said it was a solid but unspectacular draft. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about any of the guys we drafted but at least the first 3 picks are at positions of need and none of them really seemed like a reach.

I was a bit surprised that it sounded like we had no interest in Levis in the 1st. I wonder if there was any interest in trying to trade back into the 1st to grab him. I'm also a bit surprised that we didn't take a QB in the later rounds.

I was kind of pleased that they didn't draft a RB. That seemed like a popular pick. That might have changed if both Robinson and Gibbs weren't gone. I like White a lot, and it seems like he's going to have every chance to be the guy.

Baker sucks. Only guys that suck are on 4 teams in less than 2 years. Name the last QB that didn't suck that was on 4 teams in 2 years? (Jeopardy music playing while you scramble to find an answer)
