Default Transcendent VIP Party RSVP

Has anyone opened one of these? I’m considering purchasing one but need to know if you can bring a +1. I know you couldn’t in the past but some are saying you can this year. Thanks for any insight.

You could years ago, but you couldn't for any of last year's events, nor to this year's Bowman event. I'm not sure precisely when they stopped allowing it, but in any event I'd be very surprised if they changed it back for this one. I have not seen an opened invitation yet though, so... maybe.

No details on the when/where/who on the invitation this year. No plus-one mentioned.

There are no plus ones on Transcendent tickets. One ticket per person

Thanks. I emailed them and confirmed. I bought a ticket anyway - just promised to keep the giveaways sealed until I get home.

Hard to imagine the/one of the special guests not being Julio Rodriguez.

That would be sweet. They haven’t announced the city yet which I assume will be telling on the attendee. But they did say late June - Mid July. Mariners have decent stretch home series in that timeframe (plus AS game is in Seattle).

If that's what's happening - which is entirely plausible - the only realistic date for the late June homestand is probably Thursday the 29th (sorry these game times are in ET rather than PT). Even with the Wednesday game being a 1:10pm local start, I don't think they'd want to schedule the event for that evening.

Then for mid-July... the Mariners are in Houston July 2 through July 9. Then Monday July 10 is the HRD and Tuesday July 11 is the ASG, so those dates are obviously out. Then after the All-Star break ends, they're at home for practically the rest of the month, but with no days off. So in theory they would sort of need to have the event Wednesday or Thursday before games start up again - and while the Topps folks are still in town anyway, so that would be pretty ideal.

Yeah the Thursday 29th jumped out to me. Day game Wednesday / night game Friday. Plus it’s only 4hrs(?) and assume whomever it is probably only has to show up for half of that at most? Obviously pure speculation, once the city is announced we can speculate less wildly

It's absolute banannaland that Topps doesn't have that worked out before the release of a $20k product. The idea that you may have to possibly RSVP before knowing where the event will even take place is insane.

Yep, assuming it's like the last one anyway. Show up, sign the cards that are going to be handed out, stick around for an hour or so for the Q&A and photos with attendees and the Topps crew, and then out the door. The bigger hurdle is probably venue logistics, not guest of honor logistics. That's why I'd expect them to do it on a day off, rather than try to make it happen in the evening after a day game while they're working to get the fans out, clean the place up, etc. - even if the guest of honor wouldn't mind sticking around for it.

Also - man, my imagination is getting greedy here, but look at that schedule and see who else might be in town by the evening of the 29th...

Tick tock, tick tock. The 26th is getting closer. Any chance we know where this is going to be before the registration deadline??

What's the market value of the ticket? My LCS is selling one for 5k.

They were selling for $4k+ on Ebay for a while then I think one guy that opened several cases needed to make some money back and was selling them at $3500. The last I saw sold a day or two ago was $3,850.

I'm betting if this ends up being in Seattle and we see Julio and possibly Ichiro and Griffey Jr, this could end up being a $5k ticket pretty easily. As someone else was speculating/hoping... if they time it right and have Wander there... TO THE MOON!!

Have former players come to this one in the past? That would be sweet, although Griffey lives in Florida.

I wouldn’t want to bring my wife. She’s the only person I’d +1. And again, I wouldn’t want to bring my wife.

An incomplete, but I think accurate to the extent it's there, list:

2017 - Hank Aaron (Atlanta)
2018 - Mike Trout (Scottsdale)
2019 - Ken Griffey Jr. (Phoenix)
2020 - Bryce Harper (Philadelphia)
2021 - Juan Soto (Washington, D.C.)
2022 - TBA ("West Coast")

Bowman Transcendent Party VIPs (by product year)

2020 - Nolan Gorman, Spencer Torkelson, Marco Luciano ([location?])
2021 - C.J. Abrams, Jordan Lawlar, Bobby Witt Jr. (Phoenix)
2022 - Druw Jones, Kumar Rocker, George Valera (Phoenix)

Other Transcendent or Transcendent-like products:

2018 Transcendent Japan Edition - Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles)
2020 Transcendent Tennis Hall of Fame - Gigi Fernandez, Nick Bollettieri (Newport, Rhode Island (International Tennis Hall of Fame))
2020 Transcendent Captain's Collection - Derek Jeter ([location?])
2020 Transcendent Hall of Fame - Mariano Rivera, Cal Ripken Jr. (New York)
2021 Transcendent Hall of Fame - Randy Johnson, Mike Piazza (New York)
2021 Transcendent WWE - Ric Flair, Sting, Big Show, Mojo Rawley (New Jersey)

Having not attended one of these, considering going this year, what is the package of goodies for attending?

Not sure all the speculation on multiple players coming, it'll be one player as Transcendent events always are (actual base Transcendent, not Bowman or HOF). So you'll get two autos from that player plus traditionally a box or two of low-mid end product, a TTY ~50 card set, an on demand style 10 card print set, a few bonus autos that weren't packed in Transcendent cases (usually 3-4 mixed quality players), some silver packs, and a Topps branded gift (not a resale type item but usually something cool from the event).

I think only one ticket has hit $4k online, most priced mid $3k range

Yep, but note that the on-demand style 10 card set is not guaranteed (there wasn't one last year for instance). There may or may not be a Topps or Transcendent logo baseball cap included. And it will all be presented in a Topps-branded backpack or duffel of some sort.

You are correct. They switch up some of that stuff it seems but for most part it has been relatively consistent overall gift bags.

Hats have been at a few, can't recall which all. Trout event there was like an Amazon Echo, Ohtani event had headphones, recent Jeter event had like a home plate cutting board, etc etc. And the bags they give it in are always nice too. Been to so many of these the bags start to blend in with each other but it is never a disappointment unless someone is going in expecting to just rake it in.

They are very well done events, and if one is in your area or a player you like then it is 100% worth the ticket cost.
