+1 for the Boca Subs group. There are other good SGC bulk sub groups too, but I'm familiar with the Boca routine and it fits my needs best when I need something SGC related.

The simultaneous Topps and Pokemon special seems to be slowing turnaround time by a few days the last few weeks. More of an observation than a complaint. SGC's Pokemon special has been a hit for me in Facebook market place and local sales.

I've submitted several times with Boca.. their staff is very available for any questions. I was hesitant my first submission, but have sent several since.. and more to come.

SGC holds up with PSA well in Vintage and that's all I've subbed. By the time the cards leave my hands, they're back in them in under two weeks.

Highly Recommended (I've turned friends on to them).

SGC grades fairly. They are more lenient on some issues than PSA and vice versa. Pack fresh only means so much if the cards were printed with flaws to begin with as were so many cards from that era.

Since I am still fairly new to this whole grading game, what would you say SGC is more lenient on?

Corners in my experience. PSA is more lenient with centering.

The reputation is that SGC is tougher on vintage and centering, but I have some off center cards graded by them that I think were graded soft on centering, so really it's good just to look at your cards, sort of try to guess and get educated on grading standards, which are listed at each company, and see what results you get. If you are a note taker, do that. I find it really helpful. I have even bought cards I felt were undergraded and cracked and submitted and have done ok with that.

I agree with the others, SGC is tough on Centering.. really tough. BGS is the most lenient; I’ve seen 6s with half the back of the card in China.

Pros and Cons to every grading comp. See where your cards fit best. That’s what I’m doing; I’m relatively new too.

Wow! This was a shock and tells me the PMG’s are in better quality this year.

SGC is definitely easier on surface issues.

I’ve used Slabstox to submit to SGC several times and they are great. $18 a card is what they charge. Quick turnaround and excellent customer service.

Had an order received on 3/14, graded 3/20, slab scans posted 3 days ago where I could see grades.

Still in post grading process, no grades showing on actual order yet. Is this normal?

My experience the grades don't show until they are moved to shipping. Should be any day for you. Does seem odd the scans have been made available but nothing shows on tracker

Has anyone else noticed SGC's slabs are much more consistent in dimensions of late? I did my first sub in a while with them (door to door in under two weeks!), and I noticed every one of the slabs was very much the same thickness. One of my pervious gripes on their service was the varying thickness of slabs. A random 35pt card would have a noticeably thicker slab. But that's absolutely not the case this time around.

I'll keep a lookout. I just sent 3 25 card orders over the course of last week. Should give me a decent sample size to confirm your observations.

I sent in an 11 card order late last week so I'll keep an eye out on this too.

I sent I. 10 cards that arrived on the 23rd. They should pop this week. I am testing *the quality of a certain product for flipping. There are no cards from this set, by any grading company.

Curious. What has the turnaround time been of late for SGC. I REMEMBER reading 2-3 day in and out.

Ended up emailing to inquire and was sent tracking showing it was out for delivery that day (Saturday). Seems like they just didn't roll the process forward to completion.

Certs still not showing up in the database so going to follow back up and hope they can at least get the order to that point.

They have definitely slowed by a couple days of late from their fastest turn around. There's little doubt that the Topps special is taking up a bunch of capacity. Not only is it just a lot of cards, but since it's cheaper to sub directly for the Topps special than it is to go through a sub group, it looks like they are just getting a ton of small orders.

My 10 card sub I sent was received last Monday and was mailed today.

10 cards 4x 10 4x 9.5 1x9 and 1x7. Will have to look at the 7 to see what I missed others I am happy with.

Talk about junk slabs. That Topps special will get business but there will be lots of junk SGC slabs on the market. That is not actually a good thing.
