Mine went sideways about two months ago and I tried a lot of different ideas - editing listings, changing settings, etc. Granted, I don't have unlimited time to research and try stuff.

I ended up going the free shipping route on the low end stuff just because I could not find a solution.

If anyone knows, it would be good for future reference.

Is there a way to automate this anymore or does the buyer just have to add to cart and request invoice?

Here is what I have tried to do so far but, as of this morning, there are still purchases that come across where the buyer has paid full freight for shipping.

- I list with Card Dealer Pro and (at least I think) I have all the settings correct on that side of things

- eBay bulk editor
- removed "immediate payment" requirement
- set shipping profile
- amended shipping for all listings

Still having problems - any help appreciated.

I'm the buyer on an item from two sellers with ESE.
Both said delivered to the zip code last Saturday, but were not.
One was delivered on Tuesday. How many more days do I wait before letting the seller know it still hasn't shown up?? Today would be a week since the tracking says delivered to the zip code

That's up to you but if they show delivered the seller is not obligated to do anything

You could let the seller know now, you have 30 days from estimated delivery date to file an "Item Not Received" complaint with eBay.....when this happens to my buyers I usually recommend that they wait at least 3 weeks.....that still puts it within the 30 day limit, and if the seller should decide to refund it makes his waiting time shorter to file for the insurance refund. As Shrev said above, it if shows "Delivered" the seller does not have to do anything and he will end up winning any case you file. There is a chance that eBay would refund you directly out of their slush fund if you appeal the case loss, but if you don't file there is no chance. Also, any feedback you might want to leave the seller, negative or neutral, will be removed so don't bother.

If you do decide to refund I would wait until the last day before eBay closes the case in your favor, it shortens the waiting time to file the PIP insurance claim. You will get the $$ amount from the auction back, but if you did charge for shipping that will not be refunded.....only the item cost is refunded through the insurance program. Either way, negative or neutral feedback is removable.
This is why I list all my ESE listings with "free" shipping and the shipping charge is baked into the cost of the item. Granted, 99% of my listings are BIN/OBO, so I know they won't go above the $20 ESE limit (which you don't always know with an auction), but then you can get the entire amount refunded via PIP claim since there's "free" shipping.

You also get higher search placement as well as automatic 5 stars for shipping cost which boosts your feedback ratings. No way I would charge for it.

TO me it is a win to sell just 7, because I will ship them in an envelope at $1.08 rather than 10 in a bubble mailer with tracking due to the thickness.

I am not complaining, but it just seems odd.

So a repeat buyer just bought 7 again. WHat is it with just buying 7 say $1 ESE cards. Do they think we are going to ship in bbl mailer or is it all they maybe can afford. I am really trying to understand this as it is never 8 or 9 it is 7 or less and 10 or more.

Update: All of those cards I shipped via ESE on the week 2/20 finally showing up to the buyers over the last couple days. But still no updated tracking and doesn't show delivered but got positive feedbacks and messages from buyers who let me know (initially after saying it hasn't arrived).

Then don't worry about them. There is really no need to worry about ESE items at all. You the seller are virtually 100% covered if there is an issue as is the buyer. Ship and forget.. If there is an issue deal with them as they come.

I just checked and it is not combining.

Mine is under account settings-->shipping preferences-->create flat shipping rule. I've got "free shipping" checked.

Then you can go to account settings-->business policies and clean everything up.

Does anyone have the link to filing an insurance claim handy? I used to be able to find it easily in the FAQ, but I can't seem to find it now.

I have finally decided that I would like to use eBay to start selling some of my lower end cards. I’ve never used this shipping service.. Can someone give me a cliff notes of the 91 pages of info. I watched a couple eBay videos to know kind of what required but I would like peoples opinions that that use it. I know there is tracking issues with things aren’t being updated and what not but if there were the top three things that you would tell somebody who starting to use the service what would it be? Thanks in advance.

This is how I ship SE with only one Postage Due yet in over 12,000 shipped.

you can also get the wider envelopes and do 2 large card savers in it with say 4 paper or 3 chrome in each card saver up to the 3 ounces.

Is anyone having problems with Ebay standard shipping right now? I'm trying to print labels and it says "no services available", so I can't even select ESE or First Class

It's been happening to me intermittently. Usually a screen refresh takes care of the problem.

1) Use a plain white envelope.

2) Ship in Card Savers.

3) Ignore the tracking unless a buyer reaches out.

Out of curiosity, why Cards Savers and not Top Loaders?

Thanks in advance.

Most reported issues are with toploaders they tend to get slapped for being too rigid more often. They also have a greater likelihood of getting caught in the machines

I had a buyer open a case on Sunday requesting a return as the item I shipped to them made it to them destroyed and covered in green slime. The buyer provided ~8 pictures showing the damage and the front and back of the envelope. I was just about to refund, when I noticed the Return Address in the 7th pic. The card was from a different seller! I pointed this out to the buyer, and they confirmed they purchased multiple of the same card from different sellers…

As long as they closed return no harm no foul

Yep once I realized it and pointed it out to them, they closed the case on their end when I asked them to. No issues here. Just wanted to point out it doesn’t hurt to be diligent as a seller before “just refunding” (which I don’t mind doing with ESE PIP insurance) in the event the buyer actually does make a mistake.

Basically this^^^.

The two issues that caused me the most problems are thickness and rigidity. I started with all toploaders, then went to a mix, then all Card Savers. At each step my issues decreased.

How long would you give the buyer to adjust the address before you cancel the sale? Or will they even be able to change it after purchase?
