So if you had $500 to spend on just one box what would it be? Tribute, Museum, Sterling? What is your opinion?

D. None
I would spend the $500 on the card(s) that you would be thrilled to potentially pull (within reason) from one of those products. |

If you have $500 and your intent is to buy wax, and you can't be talked out of buying singles, I would recommend buying something Topps releases, rather than something you can get at a Hobby Shop or via retail. Honestly, what really matters is your intent. If you're ripping for fun, get anything you want. But, since you're asking, I doubt that's your sole intent. I imagine you want to sell, grade, some of the hits. In that case, I gave you my advice on what I would do.

What are you hopping to pull out of the box? What would it cost to simply buy that card?

If you have to buy wax as a lottery ticket, try Topps Cosmic. But the days of easily pulling more monetary value out of a box than you put into it are mostly over.

Exactly Past 2 years I did a breakdown analysis I purchased 1 case of Allen Ginter hobby Then I purchased singles (rip cards inserts auto) etc = to the value of the case Both times it was absurd how much more value going the single route went compared to buying a case to break Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Obviously NOT Baseball but i found 2022 Bowman University Chrome to be an excellent value as far as sealed wax goes, although it has gone up since i bought my case you may be able to snag a few boxes or more for a still reasonable price
I have had really good luck with 2000 Topps Tek (No joke); Fairly easy to pull a good name #'d /10 and the cards are really cool You will likely run into some condition issues from the acetate cards being stuck together at times but overall its a really fun break that provides solid value |

Topps dynasty, but be prepared to die nasty if you break.

Probably an older Heritage box....maybe 2003/04/05 (i.e. the 1954/1955/1956 designs).

I'm a big fan of Triple Threads but I would never buy a box. I won't buy boxes to rip anymore in general but paying $500 for a box with 5 cards or less that may get you cards worth a total of $20 is too much of a gamble. I just buy numbered Triple Threads cards for players I collect for $5 and let someone else take the hit

You could get a Mike Trout or even a Shohei Auto for $500 or less
You could get a jumbo patch auto of most superstars for $500 or less Those would be some of the top hits you can get out of any product. The only time that breaking a box would be better would be if you somehow got a rare parallel of those, or some very rare cut auto or something like that. Do you like the cards, or just the chance of a good card? |

Mostly a losing proposition, but if you want to rip something and have some cool cards Topps Dynasty is my vote. But it is closer to $700/box.
