Is it time for Memphis to trade Ja? They will let this season play out of course. Let's say Memphis doesn’t make it pass the second round. Do you flip Ja for a big hall and some higher IQ players to go with Bane and JJJ? This team takes on the attitude of Ja right now and that ain't good. Or do you bring in a vet or coach that has a specific task as a mentor for Morant? The parallels to Iverson seem strong. 76ers finally made a run when they got Brown and he managed to get AI to play team ball for that year. I can see Morant making a lot highlights but the team won't go deep.

We need more vet presence in the locker room more than anything right now. Jenkins has made a lot of poor coaching decisions in regards to rotations in crucial moments, but I don’t think replacing him is the priority.

Who's going to trade a "haul" for a guy with legal troubles and big-time character issues? Look what Cleveland got for KPJ by the time they unloaded him:

Now of course Ja's status is much higher than KPJ's was, but safe to say his trade value is way down, it's maybe even plummeted - no way to know for sure. I'm sure there are different GM's who would ask for different levels of discounts. The other issue from ownership's perspective is how fans will perceive it. Surely some will know about the current issues and be happy with it - other more casual fans won't, unless/until there is a big story about it at least. The problem is that there might not be until it's too late.

Also look at Charlotte and the Bridges situation - his stock plummeted so hard they decided to just keep him and deal with the suspension.

This is just beyond stupid of him. Someone needs to step up to the plate and tell him to get his house in order before he loses everything. It certainly won’t be his dad or any of the yes men around him, and it seems like the Grizzlies organization is scared to say anything. He seems intent on playing gangster, and if he’s not careful then he’ll find out what that life is really like eventually. Sad to see.
