The 2022 Topps Chrome Sonic Edition Premature Ejacufractor Thread

Ripped a case. Couple thoughts:
-Quality of ray waves is atrocious. Massive print lines on almost all
- Expose are hard to hit. I hit two in my case. One base, one to /99
- collation on youthquake was almost perfect. Need one more for complete set (Kirby)
- I hit $200 in buybacks
- borrrrrrring rip.

That confirms my experience based on 8 boxes worth of breaks I've e been in. Bad print lines on ray waves, bad chipping on edges of base cards and loaded with MVP chases. I think every box had at least 1 Judge or Goldy but $650 worth of MVP over 8 boxes I watched get ripped. If you buy Yankees or Cards spot in a break you're printing money.

That is definitely not true....

Obviously it all depends, but I opened a full 16 box case and got 2 Judge and 5 Goldschmidt base in the entire thing. No parallels of any kind. I don't think even hit a Judge until box 10.

Any idea on value? Was thinking $3-5k?

Some of the reds are all over the place.

Sapphire red /5 sold on ebay in December for $12.5k. Ben Baller red /5 sold for $595 on Feb 26. So I'd say somewhere between those

Yeah, feels much more like a $1K card to me than one of the premium /5s. And at auction, probably more like a $500-$750 card.

Wow, the disparity between baller and sapphire... Baller seems like a steal for what is basically the same card. Literally 5%...

It is different image so not the same exact card. Baller is a cheaper product too. But honestly all these variations makes it hard to value anything. I still wonder how you price /5 or 1/1 when their are hundreds of those each year in different sets. I am honestly amazed that someone paid 12.5k for a raw Wander in this market even if it was a couple of months ago

Baller might be niche BUT that's an absolute steal of a price (or the Sapphire Red /5 is SIGNIFICANTLY overpriced).

Apparently it is a very deep barrel! Baller chrome way down there at less than 5% of the sapphire.

The baller /5 was cheap because it’s the insert.

Ripped 3 boxes. Even at my buy-in of $160 shipped for the 3 boxes, it was pretty underwhelming.

Outcome:
- 3 numbered (Shane Baz RC /75 was my best).
- 6 Youthquake (Wander was best)
- Majority of B&W raywave cards were poorly cut
- 1 base Wander RC
- 1 base Goldschmidt

One thing I'll say is that the Sonic parallels look nice (/75 is a nice color match with Tampa Bay and the /199 reminds me of 2020-21 Optic Basketball product).

The Wander Sapphire Red sold for 6K and the Baller red was an insert that sold for $595. Not that I think this is worth anywhere near 6k.

A lot of his stuff peaked during the pandemic pump.

It’s going to be a long road ahead for many people.

There are many other choices out there.

That's interesting because if you look at the sale on Ebay it says it sold at auction with one bid for 12.5k
