Default Did I just get ripped off?

Sorry I don't know much about basketball cards and I tried to look these up but there are so many different variations apparently I have no idea what Im doing.

Including tax and shipping I paid $231 and change.

Mmm, I'd say for that price you probably paid at least a hundred bucks too much IMO. The center stage is probably about a 70-80 dollar card but the others are a decent clip below that. A raw red flash sold for about 4 bucks at auction about a month ago for instance. A PSA 9 sold for about 40 8 months ago but the market's been settling a lot since then. Depends on how you look at it. If these cards are ones you like just pretend you paid LCS premium and enjoy em. If you bought them to flip then not as great.

Paying too much for cards because you didn't do enough research is not getting ripped off. Its paying too much. Especially when they are all graded and it says right on the case what each card is and their grade.

Getting ripped off implies something the seller did was nefarious and/or dishonest.

I'll amend my range to 50-100 bucks depending on comps you use and how far back you feel like is relevant. Seems like the PSA10 fanatics goes for 40-60 bucks lately. Not the worst you could have done for PC stuff. You could look at it as a convenience fee you paid to get all 4 at once I suppose.

The confusion was because each card has several different variations with different color borders when googled

Don't use Google; search eBay sold auctions.

Did you get what you paid for?

Hard to get ripped off if you agreed to the price and got what was expected.

Exactly this.

Do you like the cards? If so then you didn't get ripped off.

If you don't care about the cards and just want to flip them, this will be a lesson learned

Getting ripped off would imply not getting what you paid for. Did you overpay is the real question who cares we overpay for crap everyday.

Title: "Did I get ripped off?"

First line of post: "...don't know much about basketball cards...don't know what I'm doing"

No, you did not get ripped off.

My bad for the poor choice of words. Are these cards worth what I paid for them?

Do what you should have done before buying them and search eBay for comps. Don’t spend hundreds of dollars unless you know what you’re doing. Do your due diligence and you will enjoy the hobby more.

Short for comparisons. Sold values of the same card in the same grade, recently, because the market for modern basketball cards has lost like 70% on many slabbed cards in the past year and a half.

Go on eBay and do advanced search and click on sold items. Try to find exact matches of the cards you bought or cards that are comparable. You will see how much the cards should be worth or an approximate value.

You can even get comps by looking up your cards on the PSA website and looking for the Auction Priced Realized tab.

Never mind I think I see a PSA9 of the fanatics card I have trying to sell for $44.95. So wouldnt a 10 be considerably more valuable? Im not sure if the above posters assessment that I spent 50-100 too much is accurate based on just this one card. But once again I am new to this.
