'18 and '19 parallels are exciting. Really cool cards. For years now, we as a hobby have allowed Topps to get lazy and cheap w/ the border only parallels.

Cards that look cool is no longer a thing to most hobbyist, unfortunately. You know why we loved and still love the 90s insert sets? Because they looked cool. And thats why some of them command a premium today. It has nothing to do with the colored parallel and the number associated with that color. Ugly was ugly back then. Now it doesn't matter if they look cool or not.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but for the first time ever, I think this year's design looks better for horizontal cards than vertical ones. Edit: Just noticed I accidentally quoted the wrong post. Sorry!

This is really shown with autographs, where some autographs themselves look great, and some look like horse crap...

I want a great looking autograph.

What sells are low numbered autographs no matter what they look like.

That's super weird to me "Hey look, there's only 25 of these pieces of crap!" But it's also saved me a lot of money in my PC, so hey, keep it going hobbyists!

Agreed. Maybe those cards do become popular down the line but your gonna be in a LONGGGGG waiting period.

What's boring is that centering. How plain and even. I barely have anything to complain about.

Having great taste in collecting is what makes great collections, imo. Topps has figured out that their audience doesn't have taste, for the most part. Thus allowing them (and their monopoly) to just shove whatever works better for them, down our throats.

Love 18-19 and maybe that's why I'm let down for more recent parallels. Not to mention the expanding parallels flooding the pool.

My point was he said he found the Adley pink parallel “boring”. If you don’t like the new design itself, which I also don’t, fine. Just not sure how you’re supposed to make a base pink anymore exciting.

Hot pack or packing error?? I just opened a Jumbo box and got 16 gold foil cards in 1 pack. All the other packs had 1.

Hot Box -
Bought 2 boxes at my normal online breaking group
First box had bleh - Barry Larkin auto was the highlight

Second box
Red /25 - Ichiro Auto
Heavy Lumber JROD
Camo /25
and a few other decent numbered cards.

Heavy Lumber and Ichiro in the same box seems pretty cool!!!

Had no intentions of getting any this year, but that Costco deal and 15% off was too good to pass up. Three boxes for $180 should hopefully be enough to complete base set.
