Seiya, the unfortunately darkly-printed card from Lauren Martin, uses my photo of the star running after HR#4 early on in the season. I was very disappointed in the dark print when I received my cards, and so I sold my unopened Deluxe edition (at a small loss if memory serves) and kept a base /3,999 unnumbered.
The Hunter Greene card is hard to know for sure, and don't think I've spotted a royalty for it. Maybe? I like the card so kept onto a copy but am not counting it as one of mine until I find better evidence, like some cold hard cash. I sat right next to the photographer who shot the main photo for Acuna's Chuck Styles card, but alas it was his image chosen instead of mine. His was a tighter crop and was a great photo for the card (my image landed on the Topps Now card commemorating the young outfielders outstanding day): |

I get paid to shoot the game then when photos are used, on a monthly statement. Topps is one of the bigger customers on my statements but there are hundreds of businesses that use the photos.
While there can be a pretty decent lag (3-6 months) from a card coming out and the sale showing up on a statement, I don't see the Greeene(s) on my sales statement yet, and I'm not bullish I will. Suzuki was turned in under the work-for-hire basis, so I was paid a day rate and no incremental for that one (the first 20-30 newsworthy photos I send day of game are covered by the flat fee). I send in larger batches of stock photos a day or two after and those earn royalties. |

Still a lot of week 5 offerings for sale. Full run of Arno Kiss and Elbo and the deluxe Scott Pilgrim/DJ Skee, too. Ooof.

Hopefully it doesn't.......I could see topps push it out fairly soon so they can move onto whatever next "project" they have lined up...cause you know they have one

All signs point to no. not for the artists, not for topps, not for any sort of speculators/flippers, and not even for the distribution channel.

Nice thought but I doubt it. Ideally topps would have waited a couple years after P20 or made P70 a set that covered everything they had licenses for but.....

With the artists I still wonder if these contracts where a flat fee since the PR was set prior. In which case it must have been worth it for them to sign on. Topps though, way less revenue does make it easier to just sunset. |

Given the cost to Topps for all the foil, all the sealed boxes, all the SZN programs and SZN prints it seems like Project 100 can't really be worthwhile for them.

If you were hired by Topps to be a last minute replacement artist for SZN 4, which five players would you select for your cards?

I appreciate Action Bronson and Joshua Vides for their Project 70 player choices.

I think it would depend for me. If I was already an established person of some celebrity status (Snoop, etc.) I would do whatever pleases me. If I were trying to get my name out there I would sellout and do the most sellable players (JRod, Trout, Mantle, etc.)
