Welcome aboard.

Chest/Back started at 5:00am for me. Gotta get things wrapped up before taking the kid to school and getting to the office.
When I lift I like to do my muscle groups a bit different. Arms, Back, Shoulders, Chest & Legs all get their own day. Your back, chest and legs are your largest muscle groups, so I dont like to mix and match on those days. I ton of my buddies like to have "push" & "pull" days, where they will do what it sounds like you do. That has never worked for me. Putting in that work at 5AM, now that is motivation!

Leg Day.

My right knee isn’t exactly working right now, so a few modifications will be in order.

First home workout after a bout with Covid that hit on New Year's Eve. Looking like a long way back for lung capacity. Strength was mostly OK, but dang...

Trying to ramp up the intensity right now, but it’s also 4:45 in the morning and I’m still a bit sleepy.

That was what the flu did to me in December. I’m only just now getting back to full lung capacity.

Best wishes.

New Years crowds came in one week late! Gym was PACKED this AM.

I ended up using the plate loaded power squat and smith machine for squats since I couldn't get on a rack for traditional barbell squats. Anyways, it was nice to crush some legs to start the week!

I ate well this weekend and didn't have any alcohol, definitely felt the difference in energy and sleep quality.

Yeah, it's been weird. The first week of the year was a ghost town. Now everyone's packing in by 6am (thankfully when I'm wrapping up my workout).

Better today but lungs still crackly and I'm still coughing nearly 30 minutes after finishing.

F me this sucks!

Oh man, it sucks when it gets into the lungs. It’s probably even worse with the hairballs that I imagine plague you.

In bed by 9pm and up by 4am to workout is the only schedule that works for me.

The real game-changer was getting a slow-rise radio alarm clock.

I had gotten to where I was hitting snooze on my phone alarm while still asleep and I absolutely hated any alarm tone I used after a week.

Now I’ve got an actual alarm clock that gradually gets brighter and with the radio setting I’m waking up to different, unfamiliar sounds—so it’s not the same repeated cue sound that my brain can recognize and easily hit snooze.

Nice. What brand did you buy? I’d like to look into getting one as well as I do the same routine with hitting “Snooze” multiple times when my alarm goes off.

I was at 203 this morning, pushing to get under 200 since I missed it by the end of 2022.

AM crew also checking in! Usually up by 415am and at the gym by 5am..I can knock out a solid session and cardio before my wife and son wakes up.

I used to be against it in my 20s but I actually prefer working out fasted nowadays. Definitely gotten used to it!

Just the basic recommended one on Amazon. And again, having selecting "radio" for the alarm has made a big difference because it's not repetitive.

Not wishing this on you at all, but this is what pops into my mind:

I plan on posting on here every 3-4 days so I can stay accountable to you guys.

I have ran 2.0 miles each of the past four days. The pace has been really slow, but right now I am working on the distance, not speed. I am actually pretty happy with my progress. With me running more I find it more difficult to lift weights these days.

Teadmill
1/8- 2 miles @ 5.7 pace
1/9- 2 mile @ 5.6 pace
1/10- 2 miles @ 5.7 pace
1/11- 2 miles @ 5.8 pace

Nicely done!

Thursdays are my rest and recovery days, so I got to sleep in until 6am!

- Arms & Shoulders today.

- It’s actually raining outside. Weird.

- They’re playing pop punk in the gym. Cool.

I hired a trainer and nutritionist to help me gain muscle. $80 a week for 1 hr of training and a meal plan.
