I don't think the rookies (outside of Kwan) will be as noteworthy since they already appeared in TCS. JRod will command a premium, sure, but overall they should be less desired than the earlier release.

I’d rather have the TCU JRod than the random image they stuck in the earlier sapphire

I may be in the minority here, of course, but I’ve decided to anchor on his Update image as his core one… there is just too much random variance across all the others

Agreed.

Box prices will still be too expensive for bois to flip, and probably just too expensive to bust for most, as these secondary singles won’t be as desired. Especially if sticker autos and long odds for those.

Plus, the economy still stinks and many bois are paying off credit card bills from the holidays.

Will see a repeat of TCS.

So probably not product of the year.

I like the US44 image much more than the Sapphire image. I also think a lot more of this will get opened than Sapphire thanks to the shorter checklist and autos. I’ve seen one JRod Sapphire parallel available. If the singles aren’t available, it’s hard to drive interest.

Agreed, the Jrod and Witt non RD update and TCU cards have proven popular (especially color)and I expect the sapphire versions will be too. Add the shorter checklist and presence of lesser guys who weren’t in Sapphire 1 like Lodolo, kwan, Miranda, etc make it much more appealing to open.
Price dependent of course.

I agree with you. The update image appears to be the only one that is being used across sets- all three update versions along with mini. Now makes sense why they used a different image for regular sapphire.

I would put a big bet on these boxes being at least $250 per. That of course will be a terrible purchase & rip at that price. Topps will say they are sold out within a few days (which they wont be).
