That looks amazing! Did you make the frame yourself? Thought about trying to frame my P20 Gibson set

On the Ichiro it would have been nice to have some Japanese or Seattle background to go with it.

No Julio so 0/5 for me this week.

Right? Like ANY background at all! And is that fan rubbing his foot against Ichiro's leg in thanks?

One of the things I’ve enjoyed about Ben Ross is the depth. Lack of background and random foot in the air throws this card off.

And it's not like his character art is detailed or overly nuanced, so the lack of anything beyond the nod to the Japanese flag really makes the design feel unfinished. Probably more words spilled than the card warrants.

Yup, SKEE has no established style of his own, and that's what I find annoying - he doesn't bring anything visual to the card, and I think all his work is delegated to someone else who does the mimicry anyhow. These Project cards beyond 2020 have been full of whiffs to me, especially with 70's emphasis on building connections with brands and influencers more than people who could bring distinctive art to the cards and have passion for baseball and trading card history.

This is going to be very dark in hand, similar to his Project 70 Mantle.

This. It's so bad, it's not even remotely exciting anymore.

Just got this the other day direct from Naturel, shows just how much of a joke Topps is and the effort they put into the prints. As another poster would say, who did it best…

Naturel's is REAL NICE. How much were these? I wouldn't mind owning one some day. The Topps version looks like it was put together two minutes before the assignment was due.

They sent them out as a thank you with the send in autographs Naturel did a few months ago. I haven’t seen many of Naturel’s version listed, but I can’t imagine they’d be more the $75/ea. I say that because I’d sell mine for that, lol, and I’m never the cheapest, surely there are a few out there for less.

Naturel is a good dude.

The Topps prints were not worth the cost to make and ship.

Terrible on their part.

I stand by all of Horine and Supreme's releases. The rest of the project has been poop soup.

Looks like Doc replaced the wrapper card. I wonder what Doc Jr. is up to these days.

Surprised no one has mentioned Pardee's Garbage Pail Kids. Obviously not part of the Project "series" but still a big deal, no?

There's a thread about the GPK x MLB stuff over in the non-sports section.

For someone who was too young for the og garbage pail kids in the 80's, how popular were they? No one I knew collected them and never remembered seeing packs for sale growing up.
